Logan called the boys over to hang out today with Jake and his crew. Daniel wanted me to come with and of course I did. I leaned on the bar outside, watching the boys run around, playing football and swimming.

Daniel occasionally looking over at me and smiling. I smiled back, hoping to catch his attention more. We've been friends for about a year now. All the guys becoming brothers to me, including the Paul brothers.

Speaking of them, Logan asked if I had something for Daniel considering him and I hang out as much as possible. I didn't even know how to answer that question. I mean, of course I had feelings. I've been single for over three years now, and after my last relationship, I didn't think I would find love again.

Daniel and I kissed once, but it was only for a split second. He must have felt something when we did, and if not, then I'm standing here looking like an idiot. He could've called anyone to come over, but he called me. That has to mean something to him.

I told Logan I felt something, just don't know what. I trust him not to pull something between us. Daniel is just so different from other guys. He knows how to treat a girl, how to please them. He doesn't use them then just take off. He makes me smile when I'm at my lowest. He knows how to childishly tease me in the most inappropriate times. He makes my heart skip a beat.

"Y/N? Hello?" I snapped out of my gaze, turning to see Zach laughing. "Starring at Daniel huh?"

"What? No? I wasn't starring..." I paused. He chuckled more, grabbing some water balloons from next to me. "Was it that obvious?" I choked out.

He raised an eyebrow at me, "Yeah. Kinda."

I sighed, slamming my head into my now crossed arms. "Come on, we got about a thousand water balloons that need to be used. I say we prank them." Zach smiled, telling me the plan.

We quickly filled more, getting ready to ambush the boys. "Ready? Now!" Zach yelled. We started chucking balloons at them as they yelled, scurrying off. Soon enough, they started throwing some back at us.

After about twenty minutes, we were all soaked. I groaned, ringing out as much water as possible from my shirt. Noticing that my shirt was see-threw, Daniel stood in front of me. "Chose a bad day to wear a white shirt," He smirked.

"Yeah and?" I cocked my head, beginning to take it off. "Oh no," Daniel shook his head, handing me the extra t-shirt he brought. "Thanks." I smiled, blushing a little.

Even after I put the shirt on, he stood close to me waiting for something. I looked back and fourth in his eyes, trying to connect the dots. "I have something I need to tell you, Daniel." I blurted, wishing I hadn't.

We sat down on the other end of the yard away from everyone. "What's up?"

"In this past year, I've grown to enjoy being around you guys. I never would've thought I would be here with you guys. But you're different from them Daniel, and I don't wanna hide it anymore."

He gave me a confused look, as I continued.

"I love you, more then a friend, and I kinda hope you feel the same way,"

He looked away, sighing.

"Y/N, look. You're a really great person and all, but I don't feel the same. I love spending time with you and having you around but there's nothing more then just friends with us. I'm sorry,"

My heart shattered into a million pieces all over again. I stood there for a few seconds, recapping what just happened.

"Nothing? Really?" I could feel the tears building up more and more as I looked at him.

I ripped his shirt off me, slamming it into his hands before running towards the backdoor to go inside. Everyone was watching us, Logan running after me. I wiped some tears away but more just kept falling.

I got in my car, speeding for the first time ever, I had no destination of where I'm going. And honestly, I don't care where my car took me as long as it's far away from here.

you didn't mean to say "i love you"
