Something I could never have for anyone; trust.

After my last relationship, and friendship, I stopped putting trust in people. I began to stay to myself and realized that I was better off this way.

I was abused by my last boyfriend, who I was with for 3 years. My best friend helped me out of the relationship only to turn around and go after him.

I've never felt so broken then that day. It all happened at once, I didn't even have time to think or process the situation. I dropped them both instantly, not feeling anything for either of them anymore.

So I packed my things lightly, moving to a whole new state. I couldn't stand to be around my past. My parents made sure that I was settling before they left me go.

I slowly made my way down a long california road, trying to get my thoughts together. I've been here for  a few months now. I needed a job and new hobbies.

Some people that lived in my apartment complex tried to get to know me but i brushed them off. I didn't feel like making new friends right now.

I wonder if-

"Ow," I winced while grabbing my arm. I watched the baseball that just hit me role in front of me. I looked up, seeing a few heads looking down the hill at me. They all scurried away from the edge, running down the stairs to me.

"I'm so sorry!" A tall brunette said, picking the ball up.

"I can't believe you just hit a girl, Jonah." A rosy cheek boy shook his head.

"At least it wasn't her head," Tooth-gap guy chuckled.

"Are you okay?" I looked to my left seeing a curly headed guy. He's kinda cute.

"Uh, yeah. I'm okay." I nodded.

"Jonah is a baseball freak and he was practicing his pitching." A different blonde boy patted the brunettes shoulder.

"I really am sorry," Jonah sighed, fixing the cap on his head.

"It's fine, honestly."

"Well, I'm Jack, that's Jonah, Daniel, Corbyn and Zach." Curly head smiled, holding his hand out to me.

I took it slowly in mine, feeling something shocking. I knew he felt it too since he stared at me. I pulled away, "I'm Y/N."

"We're actually a band," Zach winked, nudging Jack.

"Nice. As much as I would love to stay and talk, I gotta get home." I pointed down the road.

"See you around, Y/N." Most of them said, running back up the stairs. I started walking again when I turned around, seeing Jack staring at me still. Not in a creepy way but a confused way.

-few days later-

"So what made you move to Cali?" Jack asked as we ate Chinese in his living room.

"Bad past. I really don't wanna talk about it," I sighed, shaking my head. He understood and dropped the convo.

"Well, I hope you like it here," His smile was so heart warming. I smiled back, really feeling his vibe. These guys were actually really cool. I've spent every day with them since I met them.

"I do. It's beautiful here."

"I think you're beautiful," He mumbled, blushing. I looked over at him, blushing myself. Once he realized that I didn't respond, he got worried.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that,"

"No, no. It's okay. It's just..." I paused. Not knowing if I should tell him. I really didn't have trust within anyone. I didn't wanna seem weak and I surely didn't want to be hurt again.

"It's okay, y/n. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

I sighed, sitting my food down. I burst, telling him everything. Starting with my boyfriend all until I moved here. He was shocked, and honestly I would be too.

"I'm sorry you went through that. Guys are such assholes."

I laughed. He's not wrong.

"You're not. Or any of the guys."

"Because we know manners," He sighed with a smirk.

It was silent for a few minutes. I kept glancing over at him, noticing he was doing the same thing. Before I knew it, his lips were on mine. I grabbed his neck, pulling him closer to me.

It felt good to be free. It felt good to feel something again. Once we pulled away, we both giggled uncontrollably. Something I haven't done in a while.

"Did we miss something?" Daniel asked from the doorway. All the guys standing behind him, looking confused.

"Let's just say I have trust again," I grinned, knowing only Jack knew what that meant.
