"Have you ever been in love, Trinity?" I asked, her head turning to me while a smile flashed on her lips. She let out a quick chuckle before preparing to answer.
"Honestly? No." Trinity said, swaying herself from the swing.
"What does it feel anyway?" I asked, looking at the bright blue sky. The sun hiding behind the clouds.
It was a beautiful day. It was almost fall, the tree's leaves falling off the branches as it danced in the wind's silent breeze. Little children surrounding us as they ran around the park with their siblings and friends while their parents were chatting at the bench. I kind of felt bad for the kids who wanted to play on the swing, too bad we were sitting on them.
Trinity said, she'll let me meet some of her friends. I was new to the neighborhood, I was lucky enough to cross paths with Trinity. She's one of the most open and kindest people by far. We became friends instantly after a few hours and decided to stand by the park as we waited for her friends.
"I've read so many romance books." She started. I turned to look at her. "They said when you see that person, your world stops and everything becomes a lot more colorful."
I chuckled. I roamed my eyes around the playground. It seemed normal to me. The green grass, the different coloured slide, the blue sky. Nothing special and it isn't colorless either. Maybe love wasn't like that.
"Hey, are you thirsty? I think I saw a vending machine over there." I pointed north. Trinity just gave me a nod as I walked over to where I pointed.
Looking back, Trinity was already out of sight. I could only see the colors of the slide as I walked. I turned back to the path only to stumble. Maybe I didn't notice the big rock on the ground. I hit the ground, I felt the sudden pain on my arm.
I was lucky that there wasn't anyone there. I got up and dusted myself off. I heard footsteps come my way as I turned to who it was.
"You alright?" He said. I instantly noticed his sparkling green eyes, he had a worried look plastered on his face. The perfectly shaped eyebrows and sculpted nose, not to mention the outlines of his face were something you would see in books.
"I'm okay. Thanks." I said awkwardly, his worried face faded into a shy smile. I noticed the sly dimple on his cheek and pinkish lips.
His eyes shifted. I could see him smiling brightly. Suddenly it hit me, I could feel my heart racing even though I didn't run.
"I better get going, I'm a bit late." He waved and ran away. I couldn't take my eyes off him as he walked away.
Every step he made was an impact. I felt my ears loose its sense of hearing, I could only focus on the way he moved. The grass beneath him got greener, the sun shining brighter than a while ago. His smile got stuck in my head.
I shook my head. I went back to the vending machine and pushed in a button as two water bottles fell down. I grabbed them and walked back to the playground. I felt my knees in a bit of pain and I bent down to get a glimpse. I saw scratch from the ground. I'll just treat it later.
"Here ya go, Trinity." I handed over the bottle of water, only to meet eyes with the boy I saw earlier.
"Thanks, oh by the way, this is my best friend Aidan." Trinity indroduced. He smiled at me again and I was strucked staring at him. "Aidan this is y/n."
"Nice to meet you." Aidan reached out his hand for me to shake and I gladly grabbed it.
"Pleasure is mine." I responded.
Everything slowed down. I could feel his touch on my hand. His soft hands were against mine. The feeling of its contact made me shiver, a hundred lightings shooting out my veins. I couldn't handle the sensation, I was getting frustrated. I wanted to throw up but I couldn't get the ability to.
"I hope we could get to know each other, y/n." Aidan said, his voice ringin in my ears as if its the only voice I could hear.
"Me too." I responded.
"Can I have a word, y/n?" Trinity asked. I nodded and Aidan did the same. She pulled me a few steps away.
"What is it?" I asked in a confused tone.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking that?" Trinity said. I sighed in response as I peaked through her shoulder to get a glimpse of Aidan.
"I think I found it." I answered.
