Chapter 1

"Oh! My god, how can I not remember this!" I yelled. As soon as I got up from my bed, it was already 9:00 am and I had an interview at sharp 10:00 am. In hurry, I took a shower and left for my interview.

"Ugh, hate traffics, I am already late and this traffic is killing me" I said to my best friend Lucy over phone as she was waiting for me. After minutes of waiting in traffic I finally reached office. I quickly scanned my clothes to check if they are in a proper condition or not. I was wearing a white long sleeve shirt with black pencil skirt which was properly fitting with my curves, making my ass look perfectly shaped and my curly hair were perfectly falling on my shoulder.

"Where are you? I am right outside of your office." I called my best friend Lucy. She is an employee here, and she has always supported me in my bad times and I love her a lot.

" Coming, Ash," she said over the phone.

After a while I saw her and I grinned, after we reached towards each other she pulled me into a hug.

"Better you make it, working together in the same office, we are going to rock." she said, pulling me into a bone crushing hug. Then she wished me luck for my interview and gave direction where interview was conducting.

I watched as yet another woman walked out of the office looking flustered. I was anxiously waiting for my turn because I wanted it to get over soon so that I could relax and have some bitching with my best friend.

"Ms. Hale" An old lady wearing a black jacket called out. I stood up as my name was called and greeted her with a nervous smile that turned out to be more like a grimace.

"This way please," the lady said, escorting me into the office. I knocked the door and asked for their permissions to let me in.
Four people were sitting there, each of them was having a gentle smile on their faces. Of course, it helped me calm my nerves.
There was a pin drop silence in room, and I was so terrified; my hands were sweating. I let out a nervous sigh before turning around to face them.

"Name" someone among them stated in a deep British accent.
I cleared my throat and maintained smile on my face "Hello" I stated "My name is Astrid Hale" I smiled nervously at the authority who were sitting on a large black leather chairs behind a polished marble table.
I placed my resume on their desk with a shaky hand.

"Take a seat" a man muttered directing me towards one of the navy blue leather chair that were placed right in front of their desk.

"Thank you" I said taking a seat and then there followed a few round of questions and I answered all of them with full confidence.

After this they asked me to wait outside. As I was sitting outside the office, Lucy came towards me with a big smile on her face and asked "so how did it go?" with all excitement over her face. I could sense how excitedly she was waiting for me to answer her question.

"Pretty good, I think they are quite impressed with me. Now lets see what happens" I said smiling, though I was so terrified but still somehow I maintained smile on my face. As i was talking to Lucy I saw a man pouring coffee for himself from the coffee machine, he is an employee here but he was quite attractive, his eyes were pale blue , he had broad shoulders and his body was well shaped, his hair were perfectly gelled and were in perfect shape . I was totally mesmerized with his looks.

"Ms. Hale" called me the same old lady.

I couldn't hear her at first as I was busy in admiring that man, suddenly Lucy pinched me "ouch!" I uttered. I was so embarrassed, she was looking at me but I couldn't control myself to take my eyes away from that hot guy as he was so charming.

"Ms. Hale, sir wants to see you", she said with a smirk on her face. I knew she had saw me checking out that guy and I was feeling so embarrassed.

"Oh, okay", I said coming back to the reality.

I walked towards the office, keeping pace with my feet as I was nervous because I wanted this job so badly. I am unemployed from past few days and I did not wanted to lose this opportunity. Because this is my dream company and also my best friend works here.

"May I come in Sir?" I said peeping my head from the door.

"Come in, come in" he said looking at me with a smile.

I entered the office and was ready to hear the news, my hands were cold and shaking. But somehow I boost up the courage and smiled back.

"You have got the job. We like you as an future employee of our Company, your skills and capabilities are actually what we are looking for and we hope that you will be able to manage all the responsibilities with grace. We are counting you on for that Ms. Hale." said the HR with a welcoming smile on his face.
I stood in shock for a few seconds processing the news the HR has just revealed. I got the job? Me? Am I day dreaming? Hell no I have got this job.

Unsure about what just happened and how I felt about it. I decided to shake off my shock and hit back to the reality

"Of course sir, It has been my dream to work with your company and I would be delighted to join you."

"Here is your offer letter, you can join us from Monday" he said extending his hand towards me.

" Yeah sure sir" I said with the biggest smile on my face. I was on the ninth cloud when I heard this news as from so long I was looking for this great opportunity on my way and here I made it.

I headed outside and saw Lucy sitting in a corner waiting for me.

"Did you get the job?" Lucy's overly excited voice screeched but quickly she lowered her voice.

"Is there anything that Astrid Hale cannot get" I said flaunting my offer letter.

"Bitchhhhhh you literally made it" I know she was happy for me as always. I am also excited to share my work space with her.
