Chapter 3

I hit shower, made myself breakfast and was ready for my first day at office. I left early because I had to take bus and I won’t be taking a chance on missing my bus. I don’t have a car like Lucy and Bryan but I was planning on having one when I would have enough money but right now I have to use public transport.

I reached office at exact time and was thanking myself because I am not a very punctual person but today I made it on time. I headed towards HR office and  knocked the door, it was opened by Mr. McCain my HR manager, I greeted him good morning with  biggest smile.

“Welcome Ms. Hale.” HR said.
I nodded and said “Thank you”.
“Mr. Zach Wesley will be giving you a company tour” he said.

I was wondering who is this Zach Wesley and then I  saw a hand reached towards me “ Hello” said the guy.

When I chin up I almost fainted I saw the same guy who I have been eyeing from past 2 days. I was so excited and suddenly coming back to reality I shook his hand “Hello, Astrid Hale” I introduced myself to him. His eyes were pale blue, I was scanning him from head to toe and almost fainted over his beauty.

He waved his hand  and I was back again to reality “oh! Sorry, so what were you saying” I said to him.
Though I wasn’t listening to him, all I was thinking was how good he smells and God his body is so attractive , how can someone be so charming.

“So is this alright” he asked me I didn’t know about what he was asking me, so  saving my ass from  embarrassment I nodded.

“Then here you go, If you have any problem related to anything you can ask me” he said.

“Thank you Sir” I said looking into his deep pale blue eyes.

“Call me Zach” and then he extended his hands towards me for a handshake.

“I am not going to wash my hands for days” I murmured looking at my hand which Zach has touched  though I didn’t noticed that Lucy was standing right beside me and  it was loud enough for Lucy to hear and she gave me a look.

“What I didn’t noticed you” I said rolling my eyes.

“So what’s going on” she said teasing.

“His name is Zach Wesley” I said to Lucy.

“So how are you Astrid Wesley” she giggled.

“Seriously Wesley” I rolled my eyes, “though Astrid Wesley sounds nice” I said smiling.

After hectic day at work I was sitting silently in my room scrolling my feed and was getting bore then suddenly Zach hit my mind and I searched Zach Wesley, there he was I found his Instagram ID, though I didn’t have enough courage to send him a friend request but I stalked his insta account and found his attractive photos of him which I saved to show Lucy and Bryan. 

While I was saving his picture I clicked on the like button, “fuck, fuck ,fuck  I liked his picture”. I screamed and then quickly unliked his picture but I think he saw notification that I have liked his picture on instagram.

Suddenly a message popped on my screen it was from Zach, my heart sank “ why God why, why it  always has to be me who  have to face all the embarrassment” I said in a squeaky voice .

“hmm stalking me huh” his message popped with a winked emoji.
Did he remembered me, my heart was jumping. I was thinking of all the excuses that I could use but not single one of them was making sense, I couldn’t mustered enough courage to message him and decided to leave his message on read .

“ How will I face him tomorrow” I groaned into my pillow and threw my phone on the bedside and turned in the opposite direction, letting sleep take over.

“so now I have to face him” I murmured myself while stepping into office and guess what he was right there in front of me, I was avoiding eye contact with him because I didn’t  wanted to create an embarrassing moment for myself like I haven’t faced much  embarrassment in my life.

Then, I saw him approaching towards me “fuck man, why he is coming towards me, oh God!!!” I cursed myself but somehow I managed to give him a warm smile.

“hello Astrid”, his hands reached towards me.

“hello Zach, nice to see you” I said, though I wasn’t expecting him at all.

“why didn’t you replied to my text” he asked.

My heart literally stopped beating, longer than it should have. I stood frozen and my cheeks got red, I stepped myself back and guess what I hit myself with a table and fell on my bum, it was such an embarrassing moment for me but at some point I was happy that now I don’t have to answer to his question.

He extended his hands towards me to help me from taking my ass off from the floor. After few awkward seconds I was on my feet but my fingers were still intertwined with Zach’s.

“I need to go.” I said to Zach with  discomfort all over my face.

“yeah ok, but are you okay?” he asked me with his shinning pale blue eyes.

“oh yeah I am good” I said to him, though my ass was hurting so much.
I need to tell Lucy and Bryan about what a mess I have created. So I texted  both of them to meet me at Bridge café at 6:00 pm.

Lucy and Bryan was on time but due the lack of punctuality I was again late.

“sorry guys, you know this traffic sucks” I said in a irritated tone. Lucy gave me a look because she knows that I was again making excuses.

“it’s ok Ash you don’t have to feel sorry” said Bryan.

“I love you Bryan for not being a bitch like Lucy and you are the one who understands me completely. We have such a great bonding.” I winked at Bryan but Lucy was well aware that I have no such intentions with Bryan and we both flirts with each other for fun.

Lucy mouthed “you bitch”.

“I love you too Lucy” I winked and then three of us burst into laughter.
“so what is this messy mess that you have created” Bryan asked.

I told them about all the mess that I have created like liking Zach’s instagram picture and leaving his message on read and avoiding him all the time in office.

“what should I do” I said with a puppy voice.

“if you love him then I think you should make your move” Bryan said.

“Are you insane I don’t love him it’s just an infatuation” I said defensively.

“then convert this infatuation into love Ash” Lucy said encouraging me to make my move.

“ok ok I will see” I said, throwing my hands in the air.

After reaching home I was sitting on deck with beer and I messaged Zach on instagram.

“hi”

“hi Astrid” message popped up.

“I am so sorry for today” I hit sent.

“hey it’s ok you don’t have to feel sorry for anything” Zach's message flashed.

“And yes I was stalking you yesterday” I messaged him followed with a shy emoji.

“haha well I was also stalking you” his name appeared again
.
Well, after reading his text I wasn’t much embarrassed because I wasn’t the only one who was stalking, well he was also stalking me. After chit chatting for a while we exchanged phone numbers and my heart literally stopped beating for a while all I was thinking was of Zach’s masculine personality.
