Chapter 4

It was Sunday morning, a day off from office, “oh God it’s Sunday, Its Lucy and Bryan’s anniversary” I said excitedly. A thought strike my mind  may be I could invite Zach in this party but first I have to ask Lucy about it.

I called Lucy “ I was wondering may be  I could invite Zach to your party, if you don’t mind”

“Of course you can Ash, after all we also wanted you to make your move and I think this the best opportunity.” Lucy  said.

“so I will drop him a message” I said with a biggest smile on my face.
Finally I would get chance to have a conversation with Zach, I am so excited.

“Are you free?” I messaged Zach.
For past 30 minutes I was continuously staring at my phone but haven’t received any message from Zach but after few minutes my phone flashed, I was so excited for his message that I suddenly grasped my phone.

“yes Ash, but why?” his message flashed.

Ash, he is calling me ash, I went all drooled up and almost fainted but took the courage to message him.

“ Today is Lucy’s anniversary and they are throwing a party so I thought may be you would like to come and we will also get to know each other” I messaged.

He know Lucy is my best friend and we three works in the same office.

“ That sounds great” his message popped up.

“ok so be ready at 6:00 pm” I messaged him timing and the address of my house as he said that he will pick me up.

I picked out a bright lavender outfit for the party that accented my curves and, bared my shoulders, I wore light makeup and curled the edges of my hair. I slipped into heels, I was scenting of vanilla and have a look of myself in the mirror.

I looked astonishing, I kept myself really simple because I don’t want Zach to think of me a slut who expose too much off skin just to get only laid.
My phone flashed  “I am right outside your house” his message popped up.
Once again I scanned myself and my curves and my hair were looking perfect.

I headed towards Zach's car, it was looking expensive, as I reached towards his car he opened passenger door for me “well chivalry is not dead after all, such a gentlemen” I teased.
“Genes” he chuckled.

He was wearing a black  Suit, his hair combed smoothly in place. He was looking breathtaking. I couldn’t take my eyes off from him.

“you are looking beautiful” he said.

“you too” I said while tucking a lace of hair behind my ear.

“Which car is this?" I asked him when I couldn't control myself form asking him.

“it’s Koenigsegg CCXR Trivetia.” He said.

“Note taken!” I breathed.

Though I don’t have much knowledge about cars but this one definitely looks expensive. There was absolute silence none of us said anything, I leaned back on my seat and break the ice by asking him-

“Are you comfortable going out with me to party”.

“obviously, In fact I would be getting bored in my house” he said.

“ so just give me a recap about Lucy and Bryan” He said.

I told him everything that we three were college friends and Lucy and Bryan are love birds since college time. I told him that Bryan has his own restaurant in Manhattan which he manages.

“so they both look happy.” He said.

“yes very much” I said proudly because I am very much proud of them.

We arrived at the resort and I was excited to see Lucy and Bryan, we both headed towards the hotel and I saw Bryan and Lucy standing there, I hugged both of them and congratulated with teary eyes, then I introduced Zach to Lucy and Bryan, he greeted them both warmly and I was happy to see that.

We four were sitting on a same table chit chatting, after some time Bryan took Lucy’s hand in his and asked her to dance, Lucy followed Bryan and they both were looking perfect, a tear fell from my eyes I immediately wiped it but Zach noticed it.

“What happened Ash” he said with concern.

I smiled “ I am just so happy for them, how perfect they look.”

Zach’s hand reached towards mine , he squeezed it gently and said  “you have such a good heart. May I ask this beautiful lady for  dance?” he asked.
I got so excited, he asked  me to dance with him ,it was like cheery on the cake and then finally I nodded.

He took my hand in his and then followed me to the dance floor, a slow song played from the center stage as I stepped into Zach’s arms, I felt an excitement shoot me and then a sense of comfort, Lucy gave me a warm smile and mouthed “nice move bitch” and then she smiled.

He pushed back a lock of hair behind my ear and I almost got fainted with his touch and he smelled so good ,I forced my eyes away from his lips. I was dreaming of an parallel world where we were kissing, I blushed and chin up to meet Zach’s eyes.

I realized he was looking at me all the time, he must have seen me blushing I thought. Though many girls were totally hitting Zach but he hadn’t taken his eyes off from me and I was so happy for that.

After our dance we went back to our seats where we enjoyed dinner with Lucy and Bryan. For the first time after my breakup with John, I was actually having fun with another man, a man who was so attractive and good at heart.

I had chats with acquaintances I met through Lucy and Bryan but I didn’t find connection like how I have with Zach. Zach and I again congratulated Lucy And Bryan, then we headed outside the resort.

“Thank you Ash for this perfect evening.” he said.

“No need of thanking me, It was my pleasure to have you beside me” I said smiling, did I just flirted with him? He just gave a smile to my response and then there was complete silence.

After few minutes he parked his car outside my house and it was time to say good bye to Zach, he came closer to me and tuck a loose hair behind my ear and kissed my temple. My heart sinking further and further, I tried not to show what I was feeling so I just smiled and turned on my heels.
