Chapter 5

Next day I was excited to meet Zach after all what has happened between us, I haven’t got a chance to read his looks, what he was thinking about us. Excitement passed through my body, today I was a big ball of energy.

I was wearing a plain white shirt with pencil skirt followed by black heels ,though it is very difficult for me to keep my feet properly on the ground in pencil skirt but who cares after all I want to impress Zach. I straightened my hair and parted them from the middle.

I took bus for office and within 20 minutes I reached, I was so excited  to meet Zach and wants to have chit chat with him but when I entered office my blood boiled. Zach was standing with a blonde girl, there was hardly an inch gap between them, Zach was standing and laughing with that blonde girl. He didn’t cared about me at all, my heart sank. I don’t know why but I had tears in my eyes.

But why I am crying, there is nothing between Zach and me, and yesterday he was just being a good friend and nothing else, I told myself.

I saw Lucy who was looking at me from a corner, I walked towards her and asked, “Who is this nasty bitch?”

“Her name is Caroline and she is Zach’s new secretary”

“oh but why she has to be so cozy with him” I said, moving my eyes slowly over them.

“Ash if you Like Zach so much then you have to tell him” Lucy said to me and patted my shoulder. “If he feels anything for me then he wouldn’t be going all cozy with her” I said with anger in my voice.

I worked silently all day without making any contact with Zach, though he was trying to have a conversation with me but I ignored him.

Lucy, Bryan and I were having dinner at the same place where we always have, we three were cracking jokes and was having my perfect time with both of them.
Then suddenly I realized someone patted on my shoulder, it felt as if know this touch, touch that I have been craving for.

I looked back and found Zach standing, there was a long pause, none of us said a word, then Lucy break the ice and ask Zach to join for dinner but he denied.
“I need to talk to you in private.” He commanded.

“Actually, Zach right now I am busy with my friends.” I said ignoring him.

“I will take only few minutes of yours.” Zach pleaded.

“Ash you can join us later, why don’t you first have a talk with Zach” she said. I gave her a look but then Zach take my hand in his and took me outside to the resort.

“Yes, Zach what do you want from me” I said rolling my eyes.

“what happened Ash, why were you ignoring me in the office.” He said.

“I wasn’t ignoring you, I was just busy with my work , well today you were pretty busy or I should say  busy with someone.” I said with anger in my voice.

He chuckled and said “ I was just making her comfortable like I did on your first day, were you feeling jealous?”  he winked at me.

“Why would I be jealous I am just your friend or rather I would say your co-worker” I rolled my eyes.

He gave me a look but didn’t said anything and then turned on his heels.
