𝓑en and Eddie have been sat in the library for some time, looking through numerous books sprawled out onto the sandy colored polished table. The blonde picked out titles that focused on ghosts and spirits, due to that being what seemed to be Eddie's problem. Few books were Ghosts of the Air, The Book of Forbidden Knowledge and Spirits of the Untold Earth. There was also an old yearbook from the 1900's, Ben thinking it might give some sort of guidance for them.Eddie stared at the page of the first book, reading over everything. The pads of his fingers softly grazed over the gridded binding while his curious, lingering brown eyes never missed any word typed onto the light peru paper. None of the books so far said anything that caught the desperate boys eye, making him frustrated. A soft, yet aggravated sigh escaped past his lips before he shut the cover of the book, glaring ahead of himself in pity. Ben gazed at him, the gentle slam of the book catching his attention quickly.
A frown was placed upon his thin lips when he noticed the upset emotion on his friends face. Handing him another book from the small pile stacked on the table, he wanted to continue to encourage him to not give up. Even if ghosts seemed absurd to others around them, this minor spark of curiosity continued on for quite some time until Ben started to notice Eddie growing tired of scanning over every word — the sentences becoming all the same until he couldn't focus any longer.
Ben shut the book. "Was there any names?" He asked curiously, now reading over folklore instead. Eddie stared at one of the many books Ben had in front of him before there was a small shake of his head. "No, I don't think." He mumbled. Richie. Eddie's eyes were blown wide once his mind took him back to this morning, a glazed look in his chocolatey brown eyes due to the sudden memory. "Wait, yeah. His name-" Ben stopped him so feverishly, his pudgy hands rushing up in alarm as if trying to mute Eddie's soft-spoken voice before he could let out anymore words that could possibly hurt him. "Don't say it!" He yelled in a whisper, eyes wide.
The brunette haired boy held a puzzled look. "Why not?!" He asked in a hushed shout of defense, still mighty aware they were sat in a library. "If you say a name, the spirit...if it even is one, will come out and I don't think it will be too happy when it comes out and you're not home with it." Ben explained quietly, his eyes darting down back to the folklore written onto the pages along with spells and dark magic attached inside the next piece of parchment.
"You want me to talk to it?!" Eddie freaked, his voice raised in a shout as he was unable to contain his fear of the information he had just received. The old lady dressed in an aged floral skirt with many layered cardigans scolded him for his bellowing voice. Eddie only sighed towards the woman before he darted his eyes back in the direction of Ben. "No." He softly argued, his brows knitted together as he thought of how barbaric that claim sounded. "Only to ask what it wants." Ben tried to explain, not having any other idea in mind.
