eddie walked to stanleys house with him side by side. "by proxy...something." eddie was trying to explain to stanley what ben had told him over the phone earlier so he could understand. stanley just nodded as he didn't even understand. "what do you think is gonna happen?" he asked curiously, staring down at his shoes. eddie was silent, shrugging a bit.

he never thought about it and frankly he didn't want to. "who knows." eddie muttered. once they reached stanleys house, stanley stopped in front of the door. "if my parents say something to you, just nod. don't talk." stanley warns, opening the door.

eddie furrowed his brows, following him inside. it was a rather large house. eddie wasn't surprised, he's been here many times, but even so, he always wondered what it would be like to live in such a house like this one. his mom probably wouldn't be up his ass all the time and actually live her life.

"stanley?" a woman called out. andrea walked out from the hallway wearing a black dress that looked very formal for a monday evening. stanley had a lost look in his eyes. "are you going anywhere?" he had asked, also noticing the fancy attire. his mom was looking at eddie, though. "oh, hello. what's your name?" she asked with a hum. stanley rolled his eyes. "mom, it's eddie, remember?" he told.

andrea shook her head. "oh, right. sorry, eddie." she apologized, heading to the kitchen. "yeah, your father and i are going out to dinner." she said.

stanley glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. "at three?" he asked, confused. usually their family had dinner around six or seven, sometimes nine when his father was too busy to eat, working in his study.

stanley simply nodded while eddie stayed silent. it was rare for his parents to go out, they were always cooped up in the house so stanley was glad he got a little free time. "uh, is it okay if eddie stays over for tonight?" he asked curiously, tapping his foot on the floor. "sure." she nodded, grabbing the keys.

"we're gonna be late, we have reservations andrea." stanley looked up to see his father walking down the stairs. everything in him tensed. he wasn't his most comfortable self when he was around his dad. there was a thin line between them simply being not even friends. they rarely talked and if they did, it was due to something he wanted stanley to do.

donald's eyes landed on stanley, then eddie. "he has a friend over?" he asked his wife as if his son wasn't standing in the same room. "yes." she answered for him. "for how long?" he questioned. andrea sighed. "the night, now let's go." she said as she began to head toward the door quite quickly.

donald kept his eyes on eddie for a while, almost as if he didn't want anyone else in the house with him. it didn't feel as welcoming as he thought it would.

eddie hardly spoke to stanleys dad at all so it was just a bit weird. "we'll be back by nine." he said as he swiftly walked out the door with his wife. stanley watched as the door closed before rolling his eyes and going upstairs to his bedroom with eddie.

he seemed hesitant as he asked — "is he always like that?" eddie questioned. stanley looked at him with a venomous look in his eyes. of course not at him, in spite of his father. "like what?" he asked, already knowing what he was getting at, but he wanted to hear him say it so not only he sounded as crazy.

eddie couldn't think of the correct word to describe stanleys father. sure, there were many names that his business men had said behind his back, but honestly, that was only sugar coating it. donald uris was a cruel man. he'd do anything for a wad of cash. even if it meant jeprodisring his own family.

the conversation about stanleys dad seemed to go away as they entered his bedroom. the room was neat and had an almost office feel to it. the bed was in the corner, a white comforter. there was a white dresser by the window and a black stand holding stanleys tv up. it was much different than eddies room, but not in a bad way. just a different way.

"did you eat at all?" stanley asked. eddie was quiet, realizing he hadn't ate anything all day. stanley took his trace of silence as a no. he picked up his phone. it must've been pizza tonight, eddie thought. he didn't mind as much. it was rare for stanley to not have a family dinner, though.

as eddie peered around the room, he paused when he saw a slip of paper on his desk. there was some number scribbled on it as well as a name. as stanley got off the phone, eddie picked it up. "who's mike hanlon?" he read slowly over the name. stanleys eyes widened. "nobody. just someone." he said.

eddie furrowed his brows, looking at him. "no one or someone?" he raised his brows. stanley sighed and took the paper from him, slipping it in one of the notebooks in his dresser. "a guy i met at the concert. it's nothing." he closed the drawer quick.

"are you sure? it doesn't seem like nothing." eddie teased a bit, sitting down on his bed. stanley glared at him. eddie lifted his hands in defense. "alright, sorry. just...be careful." he said. stanley looked at him defensively. "aren't you dating some spirit who lives in your bedroom?" stanley questioned. eddies face turned red fast. "no!" he tried to argue.

"we're not...dating. that would be gross." eddie said quietly. stanley looked puzzled. "not really." he said with a shrug. eddies eyes widened. "did you forget that he's eighteen?" he reminded him hostily. the thought must've slipped stanleys mind, only cause eddie never mentioned that to him. "oh." he said.

"well, in two years then." he shrugged. eddie gave him the middle finger which made stanley chuckle.

a ring all across the house went off, catching their attention. "pizzas here." stanley announced as he got up. he went downstairs, leaving eddie alone with his thoughts. eddie sighed, turning on his side. all in a flash, he was faced with richie tozier. he sat up quickly, now seeing the bed empty next to him. his eyes were wide as he stared where he once was.

"richie?" he called, looking around the room. he had got up, peering around the corner to see that he was indeed the only one in the bedroom. eddie was shaken up. how could he be here? stanley went into his room with the pizza box, seeing eddie frantically looking around. "eddie?" he slowly said.

eddie looked up quickly. "somethings wrong." the look on eddies face said it all. stanley didn't need to ask questions to know what he had seen either.
