"So, you're sure about this?" Vinnie asked me as we walking into Midtown.
I nodded, "Yeah, I think so."
We arrived at mine and Peter's locker where Peter and Ned were waiting for us.
"So," Ned paused, "You got this?"
Peter nodded, "She's got this."
"How did you guys-" I started.
"The group chat." Ned responded before Vinnie elbowed him in the stomach.
I turned to Vinnie, "You can't keep any secrets, can you?"
She looked down, sheepishly, "Sorry."
I looked up to see Zach just down a hall, I breathed heavily while I figited with the bracelet that Peter gave me.
Peter grabbed my hand and gave it a quick squeeze to reassure me that I had backup this time.
Instead of approaching me he kept walking, a feeling of relief rushed over me as he turned a corner.
I released a breath I didn't realize I was holding when the bell rang.
(Time Skip to the end of the day)
As soon as the bell rang, getting home was the only thing on my mind, Vinnie had left early for a family emergency. And I wanted to make sure that she and her family were alright.
I arrived at my locker before Peter arrived at his. Stuffing the last textbook in my bag I closed my locker door and behind it, Zach was leaning against the locker right of mine.
I jumped, not expecting him to be there. Sighing, "What do you want?" My heart sped up, thank the heavens he couldn't hear it pounding.
"Wow," He said, "Finally learned how to stand up for yourself?"
"Just leave me alone, Zach." I said trying to walk away.
Instead he grabbed my backpack and pulled me back to him. His hands found my wrists and held them tightly, "You need to learn some respect," he paused leaning closer to me before whispering, "Stark."
I swallowed hard and looked down seeung my bracelet and finding security in the fake confidence I borrowed from Peter, "I have respect, just not for cheating assholes."
"Ouch," He said sarcastically, "Did you get that from your Dad?"
When someone tapped my arm, I knew it was Peter because that was his way of letting me know that he was there for me, but this was my battle. He was just backup.
"Yeah," I laughed dryly, "You want to know what else I got from him?" I threatened.
"You and your dad don't scare me, (Y/N)." He said, crouching down to my eye level.
"Maybe we should." I said, hitting his shoulder with mine, walking past him. He stumbled back, shocked at what I had just done.
I was too very shocked like how the hell did I just do that? I conquered my fear of him. By myself, sort of.
(Time skip to when she gets home)
I held my phone up to my ear as it rang, waiting for the other line to connect.
"Hey, it's Peter! Leave a message!" His voice rang through my ears.
"Hey Peter, uh, this is (Y/N) and I was just calling to see if you wanted to go on an adventure down town with me. There's this new cafe my dad told me about and I just wanted to know if you wanted to go get a coffee to try it out or something. If not its no big deal." I rambled, "Not as like a date more of like just hanging out. Anyway-uh-bye." I hung up.
I debated on trying to hack into his phone to delete the message, but I decided against it because it would be an invasion of his privacy. After waiting for Peter to respond for five minutes I decided to dial May and see if she was home.
"Hello?" May's voice was calming and sweet.
"Hi! It's (Y/N)-" I answered.
"Oh, honey. Peter isn't here he's at his internship." She responded.
"Actually I called to see if we could talk? I need some advice." I said, a little awkward because I was asking May to hang out instead Peter.
"Sure sweetheart, you always are welcome over here." She responded, "I'll make some tea, would you like some?"
"Sure," I paused, "I'm on my way over, is that alright."
"Yep! Its just me home right now. See you here! Bye!" May and I hung up.
I put my white high top converse back on and I told FRIDAY that I was going out. I opened the door to leave when I hear my dad's voice, "Hey kid, where are you going?"
"To my a friend's house," I paused, "May."
"Okay, I can drive you." He offered.
"It's okay, I'd rather get like an uber or something." I said.
"Uh-okay." He laughed, "What you don't want to be seen with Tony Stark?"
I giggled, "Of course not." I joked.
"I'm headed to the lab," As soon as he turned his back I knew I had to ask him.
"Dad? I have a question." He stopped in his tracks and turned around.
"How can I help, kiddo?"
"Dad, should I tell the Parker's about me being a Stark? Like, is it a good idea?"
"May and Peter," He thought about it, "Honey, go with your gut. It was your choice to have a fake last name so it's your choice to put your real identity at risk."
I nodded before hugging him, "Thank you." I said, with that I left out the door to meet the uber at the cafe down the street.
I arrived at the Parker residence a little past 4:30. I knocked on the door, it was a little strange to be hanging out at this house with Aunt May. She opened the door.
"Come on in, sweetie." She greeted me.
I took off my shoes before following her to her couch where she had to mugs with tea in them.
"What can I help you with?" She asked sipping her tea.
"Can you keep a secret?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Like it's a big one."
She nodded again.
"I'm Tony Stark's daughter." I spit out.
"What are you doing going to Midtown?"
"I want to have as close to normal as I can get."
"But why tell me?"
"Because I'm tired of lying to Peter and I need advice on whether to tell him or not."
"Honey, listen to your instincts. And if it feels right then tell him. Simple and done. But don't feel pressured to tell him."
After an hour of May and I talking and drinking (and spilling) tea, the front door opened. And in walked Peter.
"It's go time." May whispered nudging my arm.
