Spider-Man's suit was very special to me because it was the first suit I was allowed to design without my father. And boy did I run with it, I came up with every type of web from tazer-webs to edible sugar-webs for this suit.
I was running down the hallway praying that my suit is fine and wasn't destroyed like the first one I made. Fire-webs were a too advanced for it. But this suit was almost everything-proof!
I burst through the door with worry for my suit and excitement for another project. I see my dad standing there with my suit in his hands. Nothing looked wrong with it, but maybe it was a technical malfunction.
"What happened?" I asked hoping that my suit's tech wasn't toast.
He didn't say anything, he just handed it to me. I grabbed it quickly inspecting it close before running out to his numerous amount of monitors and computers.
I grabbed a white cable with a red stripe of tape one it and plugged it in, I inspected it's machinery and nothing. Except most of the protocols were off but if he was smart enough to hack my tech then he can use his suit's full potential.
"Why do you have this?" I asked turning to my father, "Essentially nothing is wrong with it."
He looked down with... Shame?
"Tony." he looked up, "Why do you have my suit? "
He shrugged, "He needed to be taught a lesson."
"What lesson?"
"If you're nothing without the suit then you shouldn't have it." He mumbled.
"One of your stupid lessons that doesn't add to one's personal growth or well-being?"
He looked at me offended.
I looked at him and put a hand on my hip, "If you're nothing without the suit then you shouldn't have it, please. You're nothing without coffee-or in your past-alcohol. Now that's something you really shouldn't have."
His mouth was open, like he expected me to understand why he took away Spider-Man's suit from Spider-Man.
"What?"
"I thought you'd understand."
"Nope." I shook my head, "I'm going to go to Vin-" I cute myself off, "Vinnie is coming over."
Before he could object I walked out of the lab and to my room.
I flopped on my bed before I shot Vinnie a text.
Me: Can we talk?
Vinnie: I thought you said you were never going to talk to me after I insulted a certain someone.
Me: I know what I said. But please I need to make things right between us.
Vinnie: Me too. I'm headed your way.
I waited for Vinnie in the Lounge room. I aimlessly scrolled through instagram whilst waiting.
As soon as she walked in I readjusted myself on the couch so I was sitting up.
"I'm sorry." We said in unison. We chuckled.
Vinnie started, "I should have never said any of that. I'm so sorry."
"Me too. But have you talked to Peter." I asked.
She nodded, "I apologized as he laughed and said everything was okay and that you were more important than anything. And that we should talk it out. Then he said-"
"Fighting is normal." I finished.
She chuckled, "Yeah."
(Time Skip to when Vinnie and (Y/N) are friends again)
"So how's the whole Peter thing going?" She asked.
"Good-Great actually. Yeah he's making great progress. Liz is as good as his." I smiled and looked down I had a weird feeling come over me. Like I didn't want Liz to be with him be she was the whole reason we became friends.
"Is that really what you want?" she asked.
I shrugged the feeling away, "Of course it is."
"Oh," her head lowered.
"It's okay." I said patting her back.
"I just thought that you liked Pet-" she started.
I cut her off, "Nope. Zip. Zilch. No feelings there."
"Why were you so quick to reject him?"
"It's not that there's anything wrong with him but I just, he's just not my type."
"Okay, sure." she said sarcastically, "because your last boyfriend was your type."
"Ouch." I said.
"You know you have to talk about him sometime."
"I know, but not now. I'll talk about it when I'm ready."
My phone vibrated, I looked at the screen. Peter had sent a stupid meme probably trying to cheer me up.
I giggled, but quickly texted back.
Me: Smooth talking at its finest.
Me: Practicing?
Peter: maybe....
Me: lol I'm sure Liz will love it.
Peter: That one was my best.
Me: I was honored to be your test dummy.
Peter: You should be.
Peter: btw, I wasn't lying.
Me: Wdym?
Peter: You're cute.
Me: You're funny.
Peter: I don't lie I just spit the truth.
Me: boy bye. 👋👋
Peter: See you tomorrowI put down my phone. Looking up Vinnie was curiously looking at me.
"Peter?" she asked.
"Yep-wait how did you know?" I looked at her wide-eyed.
She pointed to her head, "Psychic." she paused, "Well, that and your cheesy grin gave it away."
I threw a pillow at her, shaking my head.
"I need to find you a man." I said, "So you stop bugging me about getting one for myself."
She laughed, "Deal. But only if I find one for you too."
"Why? I'm very happy on my own."
"I know, but I feel like you're scared to love someone."
I sighed, trying to think of an escape, "well there is this one guy."
She perked up, "Yeah? What does he look like?"
"That's the thing I don't know. He's kinda Spider-Man." I said dramatically.
"I knew it!" She exclaimed. "Really?"
I laughed. "No, not really."
I looked at the time 10:00 pm.
"Oh my gosh. We have to get you home. Your mom's gonna freak!"
"Yep."
My dad walked in, "I'll give you a ride."
"Are you sure?" I asked. I loved rides with my dad but they didn't happen very often.
"Yep, Happy had the night off." He responded sliding his shoes onto his feet, "you ready?"
We both nodded.
"Well. Let's get this show on the road."
