(Y/N) Pov
"Yeah," Liz laughed, "Sure."
Tears quickly fell, ruining my make up. No matter how hard I tried to stop them they kept coming down. Before I knew I'd Peter turned the corner coming towards me and as soon as he saw me his classic, charming smile faded.
"(Y/N)?" He said approaching me.
I didn't say anything, the lump in my throat preventing me.
"Are you okay?" His arm reached out for me and as much as I wanted to I couldn't. If I did he'd ask what was wrong and I can't tell him that he was why was crying because I've fallen hopelessly in love with someone who I was helping get someone else. Nope, definitely won't ever tell him that.
Instead of collapsing in his arms I turned and walked back to class, no words, no hug, no comfort. Just tears and schoolwork.
As soon as the final bell rang I was to my locker and gone, no Peter, no Vinnie, no Ned. All I wanted to do was to go to the roof and think, but I can't do that because a certain superhero would show up to check in on me, try to help.
So I got home and went to my room, that's where I spent practically the rest of the day until dinner.
I sluggishly made my way to the dining room. I plopped down in a chair.
"Babe," Nat started, "What's wrong?"
I just sent her a look that said "don't ask" instead of answering her. Nobody questioned me anymore. As I was taking my last spoon full of dinner my dad spoke.
"Are you still going to go to the Homecoming dance tomorrow?" He asked, "What? Vinnie was asking because she has your ticket."
"I don't know," I paused, "I don't have a dress."
"We can handle that." Wanda said gesturing to herself and Nat.
Nat stood up and grabbed Wanda's and my plate and stacking them on top of hers.
As she returned, my dad stood up and handed her his card, "I trust you. Get my girl something nice."
Before I could even stop them, they dragged me to Nat's car and zoomed out in New York on a mission to find me a dress. Store after store, failed until we stumped upon a small store on a corner. We found shoes, a bracelet, and even a makeup pallete, still no dress.
We walked in and a little old lady greeted us, "How may I help you?"
"We are looking for a dress for a dance." Wanda started.
"For?" the woman asked.
"Me." I answered.
"I think I have just the thing." She walked to the back of the shop. She returned with a white dress decorated with blue flowers on it, "Try it."
I nodded taking the dress to the back. It was perfect. This was the dress I wanted.
(The shoes)
"It's perfect." I said from inside the dressing room.
"Well, let's see it then." Nat called.
I walked out and all three of them, Nat, Wanda and the old lady said, "Wow."
We bought it and left for home.
"Thanks for lightening my mood." I said as we walked through the door.
"No problem," Nat said, "Anything for my niece."
"It was fun," Wanda added.
And with that I went to bed. Tomorrow I was going to go to the dance and have fun. I don't need a man and I sure as hell don't need Peter Parker.
(Time Skip to the dance)
I buckled my ballet flats, stood up, and left down to find my dad. I found him with Nat and Steve. Steve was standing next to one of those really old cameras, Nat was holding a Polaroid camera and my dad was sipping on some tea probably have FRIDAY record everything so he could snapshot it later while I was gone.
After pictures were done being taken my dad walked me out to were happy was waiting to go to Vinnie's and pick her up.
His hand reached the car's handle to open the door when he stopped and said, "Is this about Peter?"
I looked up at him, "Why do you say that?"
He smiled brightly, "Oh never mind," as he opened to car door for me.
I kissed him on the cheek, "I love you, dad."
"I love you too, kiddo." He said closing the door.
Happy had previously rolled the window down, I gave him another hug and he kissed my head, "Stay safe and have fun!"
"I will."
"Not like that." Dad would saying making an innuendo of some kind.
"I know."
"Text me if anything happens."
"Absolutely."
"Okay Happy, take my girl to her first public school dance."
The dance was fun I met a boy. Yes, a boy he had brown hair and bright blue eyes. His name was Jackson, he was nice. But he wasn't Peter. No matter who I was with, I couldn't shake the feeling that Peter needed help. He had shown up for like 1 minute, and left Liz the next minute. Ned has successfully disappeared. MJ is making up conspiracys about the two boys, Vinnie has found the "love of her life" and was currently slow dancing with him. I've had a great time, but I'm thinking of calling early. My head is starting to hurt. I texted my group chat with Happy and Dad.
No one responded. I text Nat. She responds, "I'll be there in 5. I cant give rides."
By the time I had finished saying goodbye to everyone. She was here. I went outside and there she was sitting in her car, gorgeous as ever. But hiding under a cap and some sunglasses.
I got in and she brought me home.
I snagged a blanket from my room before walking upstairs. I sat up there for a good ten minutes before the old webslinger came a strolling in, it was probably more of a limp this time.
"Hey." He said trying to sound tough, but he was beaten badly.
"Hey?" I responded, "Here." I stood up and brought him inside my room.
"What are you doing?" He asked as I sat him down a comfy chair and gave him a pillow.
"I'm fixing you up." I said sitting in front if him with a first-aid kit.
