Drink You Away

*Earlier that evening*

Maya's POV

After I found out who my dad was, I couldn't handle it. I needed space. I was about to run to the church when something else caught my eye. A high school party. That meant drinking. A great distraction! I run over to the house and the boy just lets me in, no questions asked. Someone hands me a drink and I chug it.

"Wow! Someone's thirsty!" A guy behind me says. "Hand her another." So they do. And then more and more come. I easily drink them and after about 3 cups, I start to feel weird. But I don't care. I just need to drink my problems away. I drink about ten more before people I hear something. A door opening.

"Aw shit!" The host says. "Everybody out!!" He yells at us.

I stumble to the door, my head in space. I make it out the door and I onto the sidewalk and fall into the street. I see two bright lights. They come closer and closer, but I don't move. I don't do anything. I want to die. I don't care about anything anymore. The car is within a yard of me, and approaching quickly. I hear a honk but I don't move. I feel the car hit me and feel my body flying through the air. Then I don't feel anything. I black out.

This is my second post today. This is also a filler chapter telling how Maya got drunk and in the hospital.

I start daydreaming about Maya and all of her features and her personality and all of her. While I'm thinking about her, the John Legend song comes to mind. The first verse and chorus in particular. I start singing quietly to myself.

Verse 1:

Then I try to imagine why she would do this. Each thought takes me a little deeper.
