Jason's POV

It's a Saturday night and my brother has a party over at his place, my old house, and  Cassie's gone home to her mother's .

I still can't believe I gave him my half of the house of course he paid for it but we bought the house together man, but I guess it is what it is hey.

Well now I'm ready to build a home with Cassie. You'd swear she can sense I'm thinking about her because the phone starts ringing with her name on the screen

"Babe"

"Hi"

"Everything alright"

"Yeah everything is fine, I thought I'd say Goodnight"

"You're about to sleep so early?"

"Well yes ain't u sleeping"

"Not yet"

"Why what's going on ?" She asks

"If only you were here, we were supposed to be going over at my brother's" I say to her

"Oh okay ... But I wasn't going to go either way you know that, and you know why "

"You were, and he was going to have to respect that you were there with me"

"No I don't want to start trouble, just go and enjoy yourself for the both of us okay"

"But I wanted you to be there with me that's why I didn't like that you went home this particular weekend."

"I know, but it's for the best"

"I guess, spoke to your mom already? "

"Yeah, first thing I did when I got here"

"And?"

"Surprisingly she didn't say anything"

"Mmh, is that a good or bad thing?"

"Bad, but at least she knows where I stand"

"I suppose"

We talk for a little while then we hang up.

I get to the party it's already packed at least I can park on the inside.

The whole gang is there already wasted and it's not even midnight.

"J. You made it" Shaun approaches me

"Of course I made it, I did say I was coming didn't I"

" Well these days you say something and do something else bro, you know your girl got you all pussy-whipped bro."

"Yeah right"

"Shit, she probably wouldn’t marry you if you begged her. A girl like her use men like us to fuck with then settle down with a loser who doesn’t even..."

"Back off man" I cut him off, I'm just not in the mood for a fight with my brother right now so I start to walk away and that's when Chloe comes running from upstairs to give me a hug

"Jason, I'm so glad you came where's Cass?"

"At her mom's" I see her disappointment written all over her face

"Oh, but I thought..."

"She said she missed her" I cut in wanting to not talk about her right now

"Oh I guess that's why her phone is off."

"She's probably sleeping now"

"Well it's cool then"

"Yeah"
