Cassie's POV
It's been two months since I've moved back home.
To be honest not once have I broken down no matter how much I missed my pregnancy I made sure I pushed the thoughts away.
My mom told me to accept the situation and stop feeling sorry for myself. She said I should have aborted "it" in the first place, she wasn't going to be a grandma anytime soon.
"Cassandra Monroe, I didn't raise a sulking dumb girl. I raised a strong powerful woman, so suck it up as best as you can and move on, you should've aborted it in the first place. Thank goodness for fate to take it's cause. Tell that boy to stay away from you and your coming back home"
Those were some of my mothers words to me when she came to see me at the hospital.
I didn't return to work, moms order. No more Chloe, again moms order, although we do text every now and then but it isn't the same.
My life is strictly monitored, I guess mom is trying to bring back the focused, responsible Cassandra Monroe back.
The last day I spoke and saw Jason was that day I told him to stay away from me at the hospital. I've never tried to contact him neither has he.
I've applied at universities with hope to get in and start studying in the second semester.
Oh well my coffee empire dream is no more, I am now following my moms orders I can't and won't disappoint her twice.
Chloe has tried to visit me but mom thinks she's the reason for my irresponsible behavior which I've tried to explain but she won't understand that I made my own decisions when it came to Jason.
So right now I'm my own best friend. I haven't left the house that much, I'm always indoors.
"Cassie, look what I've got" mum says as she walks in from work
"What's that?" I ask, eyeing the letters in her perfectly manicured hand
"It's a letter from the university, I'm so excited for you baby"
"Mom, we don't know what it says yet" I tell her taking the letter from her
"Of course you got in, I know so. Here open it come on"
I open the envelope and it states congratulations bla bla bla acceptance letter from the EVSU.
"You're looking at the new second semester Law student at East Valley State University"
"Oh my goodness Cassie I knew it, I'm so happy. Baby you have no idea how much this means to me well us" she hugs me with excitement written all over her face
"Mom I know, you've told me a thousand times you had to be a hospital clerk because you were pregnant with me you were suppose to be a Lawyer" I say repeating the words she always utters to me when I argue with her
"I like that you do listen when I talk, baby this is all for the best. I'm not making you do something that you will regret later, for this you will thank me later trust me" she pinches my cheek
"I know mom" moving my face away from her hand
"I'm thinking we should go out celebrate, oh my I'm so excited baby. Let me call Steve so we can all go out and celebrate" she takes her phone out and starts dialling
"Mom it's really not necessary, we can..."
"No no no, we are going out whether you like it or not. This is huge. My Cassie is going to be a lawyer in a couple of years from now" she puts the phone on her ear
"Mom calm down, really you'd swear you're the one who's going to University" I say opening my eyes wide, shaking my head from this ordeal
"Don't be a party pooper now go change and we'll go. Let me ask Steve and find out if he can pick us up"
"Fine, I'll go get changed."
