- Chapter 10 -

"Abigail, get up!"

I heard Tyler's angry voice as he threw a cushion at my head. I growled under the covers, and used my pillow to cover my head.

Waking up in the morning was not my piece of cake. Especially if I was being forced by Tyler.

"Could you NOT throw stuff at me? I'm tired, and I need to sleep!" I yelled, not bothering to come out from hiding. I heard Tyler groan.

"Well if you don't get up soon, I'll leave you behind!" I shrugged under the covers.

"See if I care," I replied, and turned my back to him. I heard him leave, but then he came back again.

"Are you hanging around with that Yale again?" he suddenly asked. I sat up straight, sending my pillow flying across the bed to the floor. I knew for a fact he'd freak if he knew I was hanging out with him.

"No, why'd you think that," I said, putting on a fake smile. He shrugged and walked over to me, leaning close to my ear and whispering:"I don't want you to get hurt."

He chuckled and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. Now why did that sound so uncertain?

"What would you like for breakfast?" My mom asked me, as she opened up a few cupboards. I was in the kitchen and before had got dressed in just about 20 minutes, which included make-up and a quick shower.

"Nothing really. Lost my appetite," I mumbled and opted for a slice of jammed toast. My mum nodded, and prepared a breakfast for herself.

"Tyler's just left," she said, popping a grape from the fruit bowl into her mouth. I shrugged.

"I don't really care .. he annoyed me this morning," I replied. "I'll take the bus or walk or something." I smiled and gave my mum a kiss before walking out the kitchen.

I was just about to pick up my bag, when I heard the doorbell ring. I looked quickly in the mirror to fix my hair before opening the door, causing me to smile broadly.

"Hey Abby," Yale whispered, a smile on his face. I laughed and greeted him before accepting his huge bear hug.

"Someone missed me," he laughed, letting go. I shrugged and smiled.

"I guess," I replied, and poked him on the arm.

"Let's get a move on," he chuckled, walking past me and picking up my school bag. He greeted my mum before coming back outside.

"Sheesh, walk into my house uninvitedly why don't you!" I said, laughing. Yale smiled and grabbed my hand, dragging me down the path and onto the pavement.

"What's the rush?," I asked, wriggling free from Yale's tight grip. He shrugged.

"No reason, just wanted to talk to you." I looked up at him and smiled.

"Someone's missed me," I joked, letting out another laugh. He laughed with me, and took my hand.

We walked in silence for a while, until I broke it.

"Yale?"

"Mhm?"

"Who was Tyler's old girlfriend .. the one you liked?" Yale looked at me and sighed, looking slightly irritated.

"I'm .. I'm sorry for asking," I said shaking my head. "I'm just really curious .. it's been bugging me for a while." Yale looked at me.

"I don't think you wanna know," he replied. I huffed. I did want to know.
