Chapter 24
Abigail's POV
I sighed, and sat back down on my bed again. I stared intently at the door, as if expecting it to open again. I smiled slightly when I remembered how Yale and smashed the door open to come and save me. But it soon faded when the reason why he broke it down appeared in my head. It was still difficult for me to believe what a fucked up life I had. A brother who was a perverted player, a step-father who had two completely different identities, and a mother who was completely oblivious to the situation.
I picked up my phone out from under the covers, checking for the time. A reply from Jenna was on my screen:
hey abigail! yeah sure, come over right away! xx
I sighed again, and decided not to change out of my track pants and tank-top and grabbed my Uggs, and hoodie and putting them on. I grabbed my keys, slipping them in my pocket with my phone.
"Mum, I'm gonna be out for a while," I called into the living room. My mum looked over at me from her intent conversation with George. I tried my best not to make eye-contact with him.
"Where to?" I cleared my throat.
"Jenna's place. I wanna check on her; she felt really ill when I left her. It's the cramps." My mum nodded, and smiled.
"You can stay over at her place too, if you like," George put in, as he took a sip of his coffee. I looked over at him, and forced a smile. "I'd like a little alone time with your mother, if that's alright." He smiled genuinely and put down his coffee cup, looking happily at my mother. She giggled and hit him on the arm.
"George!" she laughed, glaring playfully at him. I shook my head, and when upstairs and packed a couple things in a duffel bag before heading back downstairs.
"I'll see you later!" I called, waving quickly to my parents. They smiled and waved, before turning back to each other. I closed the living room door, and walked down the hall, putting on my jacket, and stepping outside. As soon as I closed the front door, George's words suddenly popped up in my head; "I'd like a little alone time with your mother." I looked over at the living room window, and saw George looking right back at me.
My heart began thumping quickly in my chest, as I walked down the path, and on to the pavement. I really hoped he wouldn't hurt my mum. The way he had said that didn't sound like the 'alone time' people normally have after they've been away from each other for such a long period of time. I gulped, and continued walking down the road.
It only took me a couple minutes to reach Jenna's house, and when I did, Jenna's older sister, Amberly, opened the door for me.
"Hello Abigail. Everything alright?" She looked down at my duffel bag, and looked at me strangely. I nodded, and hoisted the bag over my shoulder.
"Yeah .. my parents are having some 'alone time' so I thought I'd give them some privacy." Amberly nodded, and let me inside. Jenna came running down the stairs, and widened her eyes when she saw me.
"Hey Abby!" Then she frowned when she saw the duffel bag.
"Yeah .." I said, dropping it by the doorway. "Let's go to the living room, I'll explain everything there." Amberly frowned, making both sisters look so much alike. I laughed at both of them, as I followed them into the living room.
~*~
"So what's this you need to explain?" Amberly asked, as she poured all of us a cup of tea. I picked mine up, and dropped a sugar cube into it. I then looked over at her, and explained everything that had happened up until this afternoon. Jenna pipped in every now and again to add more information. When I finished, Amberly looked at both of us in shock.
"There's still more," I said, stirring my tea slowly. "I've found out today that my step dad is Yale's foster dad." Both Jenna and Amberly gawked at me.
"You're kidding right?" Jenna asked, a gasp escaping her lips. I shook my head, signaling a no. Amberly rubber her temples.
"I wish you guys had told me this earlier," she mumbled, looking at her tea, her hands wrapped tightly around the cup. It was mine turn to frown now.
"Why?" I asked. She sighed.
"Max isn't the kind of guy you should .. get involved with," she responded, a tint of worry in her voice.
I almost thought my heart was going to explode from the way it was thumping.
"I .. we used to go to high-school together. I had this massive crush on him, and then one day he asked me out. I accepted of course, but I completely regretted it from that day onwards."
I gasped lightly, knowing what she was about to say would be bad.

Oh, exciting right ? :D
Haha, next chapter coming today as well, so don't worry. This one's too short obviously.
Next chapter will start with Tyler's point of view [yes, we haven't heard from him in a while. I hope you didn't think he died o.o]
(:
EDIT:
I won't be able to post the story as I promised due to something happening to my word document and my laptop itself. I promise that when I do, I'll make it EXTRA long and EXTRA gripping. I really do promise. For now, comments, votes and reads are well appreciated.
Thank you all SO much for understanding and for being SUCH awesome readers. I love you all !! :D
