Because of Me, Because of You

"Oh, I was just coming to get you. Daniel is out of surgery." Tyler said, as he stopped in front of me.
I stopped dead in my tracks. I mean yes, I wanted to see Daniel, that's what I have been waiting for but now that it is finally that time, I don't know if I'm ready.
I took a deep breath, I have to see him.
"Okay." I nodded, following Tyler to Daniel's room.
Once we arrived at Daniel's room Tyler opened the door and I stopped. I stared at his body, his face was pale. His heart beat was out on display for all to hear, I hated it. I hated seeing him like this. Tears started to form in my eyes again. I did this to him, this is all my fault. Finally I walked fully inside the room, taking a seat next to him. I grabbed his hand. His mom and the rest of the family left the room, giving me sometime alone with him. I looked at Daniel, he had no expression on his face.
"Because of you I am alive right now and because of me you are laying here in pain. How can I live with that?" I said to him even though I wasn't sure if he could hear me. Tears started to pour down my face. I had hope, even though I knew it wouldn't happen, that he would wake up right then and there. That he would open his eyes and look back at me with that stupid, adorable smile of his and tell me that he was okay. But he didn't, he stayed in the same state that he was in when I walked into the room. I sniffled and leaned my head on my hands.
"Please wake up Dani."

"Y/n. Y/n." Zach said, shaking me.
I looked up at him, I must have fallen asleep while sitting here with Daniel.
I immediately looked over at Daniel, he was still the same.
I looked back at Zach, he was on crutches. "Oh hey. How long have I been out?" I asked him.
"A few hours I think. Maybe you should go home and get changed, or get some food." Zach said.
"I can't leave Daniel." I said.
Zach sat down on the chair next to mine, letting his crutches fall down on the floor. "Y/n you gotta leave the room. Daniel's state hasn't changed in hours." Zach said.
"I can't."
"Then at least go see the others. They're all awake." Zach said.
I sighed. "Okay. But will you come?"
He smiled, "of course."
I stood up and grabbed Zach's crutches, handing them back to him. We walked out of Daniel's room, I looked back at him one last time hoping that he would be awake. But of course he wasn't. So I let Zach lead me to the boys' rooms.
"Jack's room comes up first, then we can just make our way down to each one because they are all close by each other." Zach said.
I nodded. Once we made it outside of Jack's door, Zach looked at me to open it since he couldn't.
"What if he hates me?" I said, making us both stop and stand in front of the door.
"Y/n, why would he hate you?" Zach asked, confused.
"Because this wouldn't have-" I started to say
"I swear to God, if you say because this was all your fault I will personally take you out with my crutches." Zach said, interrupting me.
I smiled at him before turning and opening the door.
"That's what I thought." Zach said.
I opened the door fully and let Zach walk in first, then I followed behind him.
Jack looked at the two of us, "hey guys."
"Hey Jack." Zach and I both said. We go over and sit down in the seats on Jack's left side.
"How are you y/n?" Jack asked me.
"I'm fine, thanks to you. The better question is, how are you?" I asked.
"I'm fine, sore, but still fine. He didn't hurt you did he?" Jack said.
"He didn't even get the chance, Zach knocked him unconscious." I said.
Zach smiled proudly.
"I'm glad. Have you seen Corbyn and Jonah yet?" Jack asked.
"Not yet, I've been in Daniel's room since he got out of surgery."
"How is Daniel?"
"He's okay, still unconscious. The doctors said that he's lucky. I'm just glad that he's alive." I explained.
"Everything is gonna be okay, Daniel will be fine." Jack said, comforting me.
I smiled at him and nodded. Seems like this is gonna be a common thing people are gonna say to me.
The door opened and all of our heads shot up, a girl with curly hair walked in and Jack's face softened when he saw her.
"Hi Jack." She said making her way over to him.
"Hey Gabbie." Jack said before kissing her. "Y/n this is my girlfriend, Gabbie. Gabbie this is my friend, y/n."
"Hi, nice to meet you." I said.
"Nice to meet you too." She said, smiling. She seemed really nice.
"Alright well, we'll leave you guys alone. We have to go see Jonah and Corbyn." I said, standing up from my chair.
"Okay, let us know if anything new happens with Daniel."
"We will." I said, opening the door and letting Zach out, I closed the door and then followed behind Zach.
We walked a few feet before reaching Jonah's door, I opened it and let Zach go in first like the time before.
"Hey Jo." I said.
"Hey y/n, hey Zach." Jonah said as he paused his TV.
We sat down just like we did in Jack's room.
"How are you feeling?" I asked him.
"I'm okay. How are you guys?" Jonah asked.
"I'm fine." I said.
"I'm okay too, just the stitches in the leg." Zach said.
"Nothing happened to you right?" Jonah asked, directing the question towards me.
"No, the man tried to take me but Zach hit him with a lamp before he could even harm me." I said.
"Way to go Zach." Jonah said. "I've been trying to get information on how everyone is but they won't really tell me that much."
"Jack is okay, he's resting right now. He also got stitches. Corbyn is the same, although we haven't seen him yet. And Daniel, well he's still unconscious, the doctors think his surgery went well though." I explained to Jonah.
We talked for a few more minutes about what happened, filling Jonah in on anything he didn't know.
"I'm gonna let you guys go see Corbyn. Let me know I about any updates on Daniel."
I nodded, "of course."
Zach and I made our way out of Jonah's room and to Corbyn's. We entered the room causing Corbyn to look at us, he had a smile on his face when he saw Zach and I.
"Thank god you're both okay." He said as Zach and I sat down in the chairs next to his bed.
"Thank god you're okay." I said.
He laughed, "thank god we're all okay. How is everyone else by the way?"
"They're all okay, just resting. Daniel is still unconscious but the doctors think surgery went well so now we are just waiting for him to wake up." I said.
"He'll be fine y/n." Corbyn said.
"So everyone says. I just want to see him awake again, I miss him." I said.
Corbyn nodded, "I understand."
Zach and I filled Corbyn in on any details that he didn't know just like we did for Jonah. Then we were interrupted by a knock on the door. I got up and walked over to the door, opening it.
"Ms y/l/n?" It was the police.
Why are the police asking for me?
