That Night

Y/n POV

I made my way home from my friends house, walking through the city. The crisp air hitting my face as my shoes clicked on the pavement. I decided against ordering an Uber so that I could save my money, besides the walk to my house wasn't that long anyway. It was getting close to 10:30 so there weren't many people out. As I turned a corner I started to notice foot steps behind me. I figured it was just someone else making there way home as well. But as I continued on I noticed they were still there, so I decided to speed up a little, but so did they.

"Okay, now this is weird." I thought to myself.

I turned my head slightly so that I could see the figure behind me, worst thing I could have done. I saw a man in all black, he flashed me a crooked smile, his eyes dark. I turned my head again and continued to walk.

"Hey! Pretty lady, slow down! C'mon I don't bite, well, maybe a little." He said chuckling at the end, sending shivers down my spine.

My breaths started to get shaky, as I debated if I should run or not.

"Okay, okay. Breathe, breathe. Just stay calm and continue your way home." I encouraged myself.

But as I continued my walk I realized that if I did end up making it home without him catching up, he would know where I lived. Shit. So I took a turn, opposite from the way to my house. I saw a small coffee shop still open. I made my way towards it, the mans footsteps still pounding behind me as he got closer. I was just out of his reach as I swung open the door and scanned the small café, looking for any person who I could sit with so that the man would leave me alone. I saw a group of boys sitting in the corner, I didn't want to bother them but I knew that it was the only way to get this creep away from me. So I raced towards them, I stopped standing above one of them, they all turned their heads and looked at me, confusion crossing their faces. Before I could say anything the man found me and called out to me.

"Darling? What are you doing with these boys?" He asked.

I tensed up before staring at the boys, pleading them with my eyes.

The man walked over to me and put his arm around my waist.

I mouthed, 'help', to the boys and they immediately knew what I meant.

"Hey man, get your hands off our friend." The boy with the rosy cheeks who looked slightly younger than the rest said.

"Friend? Ha, yeah right boys. This is my girl so, I'm just gonna take her and leave." He said, tightening his grip around my waist.

The older looking boy with dark brown hair stood up and lightly grabbed my arm, taking me out of the man's grip then he sat me down where he was sitting. I was still shaking, the boy next to me, who had beautiful blue eyes, put his hand on mine to stop it from shaking, lightly rubbing his thumb against my hand. He flashed me a reassuring smile, he had a cute tooth gap, I gave a slight smile before looking down and taking a deep breath.

"Yeah, no this is our friend and she is here to meet us so you can leave now." The boy standing said.

"And how do I know that you aren't lying? What's the girl's name?" The man said stepping closer to the tall boy and pointing at me.

"Her name?" The tall boy asked.

The man nodded.

"Layla." The blonde boy chimed in quickly.

The man turned towards me, "darling, c'mon, we need to go home. Stop playing games." He said as he reached out to me.

The tall boy stopped him causing the man to push him. That's when the blonde boy and the boy with curly hair stood up.

"Look man, we aren't looking for any trouble, so can you just leave us and Layla alone and get out of here." The curly haired boy said.

It was five against one, if all the boys joined in, the man knew he couldn't win so he finally gave up. He gave me a devilish smirk before glaring at the boys. He started to back away before saying one last thing directed at me.

"See you soon, beautiful." And with that he left, disappearing into the dark night.

All of the boys turned towards me, the tall one grabbing a chair a pulling it up on the other side of me. I just sat there, starring at the ground, my breathes shaky and my body trembling. And thats when I started to cry. One of them began to rub my back.

"Hey, hey, it's okay, you're safe now."

I looked up at the five boys, I probably looked like a disaster. "Thank you."

"No problem." They all responded.

"So what's your real name?" The blonde boy asked.

"Y/n" I said, sniffling.

"Well I'm Corbyn, the curly haired one is Jack, the tall one is Jonah, the rosy cheeks one is Zach, and the one to your right with the blue eyes is Daniel."

Each boy gave me a small wave and a smile.

"Who was that guy?" Zach asked.

"I-I don't know. I was just walking home, when he started following me." I stuttered.

"Alright, well you seem pretty shaken up, so why don't we take you home." Corbyn said.

I nodded and stood up with the rest of the boys. Daniel had his arm around my shoulders, comforting me and for some reason it was working. We all piled into their car and I told them my address, we sat in silence as they drove me to my house. Once we arrived they all got out walking me to my door.

"Thank you again, I don't know what would have happen if you didn't help me." I said, smiling at them.

"Of course." Jack said.

"Hey, why don't we exchange phone numbers, so that if that guy or someone else ever bothers you again you can call us and we can help you out." Daniel asked me.

"Uh yeah, sure that would actually be really nice." I said. I exchanged numbers with the boys.

"Now are you sure you are okay by yourself?" Jonah asked me.

"Yeah I'll be fine."

"Well if anything happens, call us!" Zach said.

"I will, thanks again for saving me." I said as I stood in the front doorway of my house waving to them. They turned around and walked away.

"Bye y/n!" Daniel said smiling and waving at me before getting in the car. They drove away and I walked into my house, throwing my stuff on the floor and going straight to bed. Today was way too stressful, thank god for those boys, they saved my life.
