The morning went quickly, Viserra and her cousins returned to Winterfell with plenty of game. The stabled their horses, as Theon approached them."Your aunt was looking for you, Serra" Theon took the reins from Viserra. Theon was one of the few people Viserra allowed to call her that.
"Did she say what she wanted?" Viserra took her pack from the saddle.
"She needed help with Sansa and Arya for the king's arrival. She also wanted the two of you over to Tommy." Theon took her pack from Viserra and looked at Jon and Robb. "I'll take this, she's waiting for you with Maester Luwin."
"Thank you, make sure the cook gets the game from this mornings hunt." Theon waved her off. She walked past the courtyard and saw her young cousin Bran started to climb down while his direwolf Summer watched from below. From behind Bantis ran and playfully nipped at his brother ear.
"Brandon!" Lady Stark called for her son as he climbed down the stone wall. Viserra walked over to her aunt as she lectured her son. "Do you know what?" Catelyn asked her son.
"What?" Bran whispered.
"You always look at your feet when you lie." Bran gave his mother a mischievous smile. "Viserra, there you are." Lady Stark looks at her niece.
"Serra! The king is just down our road" She felt her heart begin to race. Viserra tousled his hair.
"Shall we close the gates then?" She smiled.
"And when they knock at our gate we tell them 'no ones home!'" Bran laughed with Viserra. His entire life she had always been the one to pick him up when he's fallen, or comfort whenever he was upset. She was a second mother to all of the stark children.
"You have the mind of a Maester!" Viserra kissed Bran's head.
"Bran run and find your father, tell him the king is close." With that order Catelyn's son does as he's order with his wolf in tow. "I would ask where have you been, but by the look of your clothes I already know the answer".
Catelyn Stark knew her niece was a beauty, but there was no denying her skills with a blade. Viserra had attracted many suitors over the years. She was headstrong and denied most of them except for one. When she first experienced heartbreak Catelyn cradled her like a mother would any daughter. Since then Viserra never allowed herself to be put in that position again.
Viserra was so similar to her son Robb. They both like to fight and hunt, and as much as she tried to entertain Viserra with the duties of a proper lady, she was always drawn to the blade. After years of trying, Catelyn finally came to an agreement with her beloved niece. She may train with the boys and hunt as she likes, but once her lessons were finished for the day. It quickly became apparent her niece was a fast learner, and when prompted she could put down her blade and be a true lady.
She saw so much of her mother in her. Catelyn's heart ached for Viserra, it was cruel that Catelyn was fortunate to know Elaena when her own daughter could not. She vowed to the old gods and the new, she would honor Elaena by loving her daughter like her own. This promise she kept, but not the one she made for Jon."I need you to get the girls and yourself ready. The king is practically here."
"Of course, but I doubt Sansa will need any help. She all but count the seconds for the prince's arrival." Viserra smiled and gave her aunt a peck on the cheek and raced off to find her cousins with Bantis not far behind. She found Sansa in Viserra's room dressed, and brushing her hair. Arya was underneath the bed in hopes of trying to scare Sansa. Viserra helped Sansa with her hair and Arya get ready. Arya ran off the moment she was finished in hopes of seeing the king arrive.
