Jovan knew his Lady better than she would ever know. He was there the day she arrived to Dorne. Watched she had collapsed on the brink of death on to the hard stone floor. He rushed to her as her body convulsed. The impact of her head hitting the stone floor echoed in the courtyard. He was the one who had carried her to the nearest room while Oberyn was summoned.
He would never forget how death was present in her face. In her ethereal face. She was designed by the gods old and new, Jovan had thought on first glance.
His lady had entered a deep sleep, one she could not wake from. Jovan had stood guard and watched for days as the prince worked throughout the night bringing life back into the Stark girl. The darkest day was when her heart stopped beating. Oberyn had forced life back into it. The sound of her shallow weak breaths brought a relief to the room.
Day after day Jovan watched as she made her slow recovery. Watched how resilient she was. She was a fighter even in death. That same woman walked in to the empty secluded hall with a mountain of a woman.
Brienne of Tarth.
"You finally have me, Lady Brienne" Viserra walked beside the woman warrior in step.
"Thank you for meeting me" she responded "and I'd prefer just Brienne" Viserra nodded acknowledging the aversion to titles.
"Very well Brienne" Viserra walked forward toward nothing. The two woman walked in silence for a moment until Viserra's impatient nature broke through. "Why did you want to meet me?"
"I swore allegiance to your aunt Catelyn" Brienne started.
"I know" Viserra answered after a moment. "and being as she's dead, you are now free." the young woman stared straight ahead not bothering to see the impact of her words.
"My lady" Brienne said as she blocked Viserra's path. "I swore an oath to your aunt that I have yet to fulfill" Viserra looked up to the woman who stood at Jovan's height.
She had questioned whether or not to meet with Brienne of Tarth. She had heard how she was the one to safely return Jaime Lannister, and how she was a friend and ally to the crown. Her interest was peaked when Brienne had made several requests for a meeting. Ever the curious one, Viserra finally agreed. She had figured she would hear what she had to say and then kill her if necessary. She would put up quite a fight, but Viserra always enjoyed a challenge and this woman would indeed be a challenge.
"This oath..." Viserra took a step forward toward Brienne, much to Jovan's dismay. "did it involve the betrayal of my aunt?" Viserra's words slapped the Lady Brienne. "I have heard of your so call allegiance to my aunt Cat. I have also heard how you saved Jaime Lannister from the Starks and brought him home to King's Landing" Even though Viserra's height couldn't compare to that Brienne's, she somehow seemed taller than the seasoned warrior. Viserra simply had a presence that was undeniable. "And only one of those stories seems to be the truth"
"I swore an oath to Lady Catelyn," Brienne began. "She had me escort Jaime to King's Landing in exchange for you and her daughters."
"And here you are..." Viserra began to circle the woman. "She's dead, Jaime has returned, and her daughters gone. Oath remains unfulfilled."
"I can still keep my promise" Brienne stood straight and allowed the young girl to circle her. "I can find Sansa" That caused the Shewolf to pause. Viserra returned to her position in front of Brienne.
"And why would I want you of all people to find her." Viserra's eyes seem to glow in the low light.
"Have I done something to offend you?" Brienne sensed there was more.
