Viserra was forever under supervision since the murder of her uncle. The two remaining Stark girls were never seen apart unless the new boy King wished it. The two were often seen walking along the gardens or in court. They spoke to no one unless it was their handmaidens or when required. The two Starks sat in their rooms quietly working on their knitting. Since her imprisonment Viserra was not allowed to train or come into contact with any of her weapons. She felt vulnerable and hated every second of it.
"Where do you think Bantis is?" Sansa asked quietly.
"He's gone home." Viserra answered quickly. She knew Sansa was just making conversation, but Viserra missed her wolf. It had been months since she had sent him away. She had no doubt that he would survive the trip home, but it didn't keep her from worrying.
"When will we get to go home?" Sansa said above a whisper.
"I do not know pup." Viserra returned to her knitting. "So, we sit, we knit, and we play along until it is time". Viserra eyed Sansa who nodded in agreement.
It was Joffrey's nameday and an event was being held. Sansa was called to the king's side for the festivities while Viserra was not. The king made it a point not to have the eldest Stark girl around. On several occasions she had made comments in public that embarrassed the young king. Although he threatened, Viserra knew he couldn't kill her or Sansa. All of Kings Landing had heard the of Tywin Lannister's displeasure over the beheading of Ned Stark. Tywin had sent word that the Stark girls were to remain unharmed.
Viserra sat in the gardens reading The Dance of Dragons, A True Telling quietly. Since she was no longer allowed to train her body, Viserra had decided to strengthen her mind. She had focused on anything Targaryen of late. The gardens usually were empty since the Lannister guards assigned to her would run out anyone who was in the area. Viserra had watched her guards and memorized their names and routines. It was now midday and the guard known as Til was going to have to relieve himself at any moment.
The 3 other guards Lawrence, Ed, and Vinter would then rotate their positions along the exits. Til usually took quite a bit of time. By the second week Viserra had discovered that Lawrence was partially blind in his left eye. Ed tried to hide the slightest of limp of his left leg. Vinter was new to the guard and was extremely inexperienced with the sword. Other than his small bladder Til had no weakness she could expose, but she knew him from before. He was one of the guards that was harassing Gendry the night she escaped.
All of this information would be useful one day, but not now. Now she would sit and read.
"You can't be in here" Vinter said without confidence. Viserra looked up to to see none other than Tyrion Lannister. It had been what felt like ages since she last saw the little lord. They did not interact outside a few times. She remembered reading in Winterfell's library and Tyrion would occasionally join her. They both sat in silence reading, or debate the author's true meaning versus their personal interpretation. They did not know each well, but they had a mutual respect.
"As hand of the king I can do as I like" Tyrion strolled into the courtyard as if it was his own. "Leave us" He commanded to the guard as he walked toward Viserra and was followed by man who clearly was a sellsword, mercenary type. "Lady Viserra" Tyrion called over to the Stark girl. "I am pleased to see you are well" Tyrion stood in front of her. "I am sorry for the loss of your uncle. He was a good man". His sincerity surprised her.
"Thank you, although I doubt the rest of your family feels the same." Viserra stated and Tyrion grinned in what almost Viserra could call shame.
"May I sit?" Tyrion motioned to the seat next to her and she nodded. "I have to say I'm quite impressed with the reports I have received concerning you and your family. Your cousin Robb is a clever strategist much to my father's surprise."
