"We're home!" Austin yells.
I laugh and slap his arm. "Austin, it's like, twelve o'clock! She is asleep."
He giggles. "Oh, right."
I laugh and rummage through his cabinets.
"What are you looking for?" He asks.
I smile and pull out a box of mix. "We're making brownies!"
He laughs and grabs the eggs and butter. "Only we would make brownies at midnight."
"'Cause we're strange!" I giggle and grab a mixing bowl.
"Hey, I have a text from my mom. She's out with friends and will probably stay at a motel." He grins.
"Only your mom still has sleepovers." I laugh.
"Now we can have some tuuunes!" He yells and turns on the radio.
I Like It Like That by Hot Chelle Rae comes on and I smile.
"Missed my ride home! Lost my iPhone! I wouldn't have it any other way! If you're with me let me hear you say!" I sing along and Austin smiles.
"I LIKE IT LIKE THAT! HEY! WINDOWS DOWN!" I scream and laugh.
"Chillin' with the radio on! I like it like that! Damn sun's so hot! Makes the girls take it all off!" Austin laughs at me again.
"Can we actually make brownies now?" He smiles and waves a wooden spoon around.
I nod. "Why, certainly!"
We both laugh and I open the brownie mix.
"Kay? Can I ask you something?" He looks at me, suddenly serious.
"Sure. Anything." I smile and pour the mix into the bowl.
"Well, me uh..kissing you didn't cause you guys to break up did it?" He gulps.
I shake my head. "No, Louis being a jerk caused us to break up."
He sighs in relief. "Good. 'Cause I'd hate if it was because of me."
I smile. "Actually, I want to thank you for being here for me."
He grins. "I'll always be here for you."
He hugs me and I smile.
"Well! Brownie time!" He smiles and cracks an egg into the bowl.
I laugh and help him.
It takes us about fifteen minutes to finish the batter and Austin insists that he gets some.
"No." I say sternly.
"Please? Pleeeaaassseee?" He gives me puppy dog eyes.
I sigh and smile. "Fine, you can lick the spoon!"
He smiles and takes it. "Oh sweet chocolate heaven."
I laugh and roll my eyes.
"Want some?" He asks, smiling with chocolate on his face.
"Good lord! Did you get any in your mouth?" I smile and grab a wash cloth. "Come here so I can clean you up."
He laughs and walks over to me. I wipe most of the chocolate off of his face and smile. "You're like a little kid."
"I'm an adorable little kid!" He laughs.
"Oh, very." I smile and wipe the rest off.
"Tonight was fun. It still is!" He smiles at me.
I giggle and realize that it really was fun. It helped me get my mind off of Louis and it was just..fun. Except for the whole screaming-and-fighting-with-who-is-now-my-ex-boyfriend part that is.
"Kay, I want you to know that Louis is extremely stupid for letting you go. Not trying to stop you. If I was ever in his shoes I would never even think of being a jerk to you. Ever." He looks into my eyes.
I just state at him, unaware of what he really just said.
"You're a really great girl, Kay. I think any guy would be lucky to have you. Sure some are jerks but maybe there's someone out there that isn't one." He adds.
"Austin, that's so sweet." I choke out.
"I like you. A lot." He looks into my eyes again.
Thoughts swirl through my head so fast that I can't even make out one of them. What did he just say?? He likes me?? I don't like him. Do I?? Oh god! He is really cute.. Stop that!! What?? I'm not with Louis anymore..so if I kissed him I wouldn't get in trouble! Noo! Yes!! Ugh!!
Before I know what's going on Austin was kissing me and..I was kissing back.
