Chapter 13: Oh, the insanity

LEE P.O.V

I screamed and covered clementine behind me. I heard the gunfire, but it never hit me. I turned around, and stepped back.

Bigby had jumped in front of the bullets. I stared at him, but then my smile faded as bigby fell to his knees, and landed face first in the ground. Clem gasped. And Joel looked at us, his eyes twitching.

"Joel?"

We spun around, and saw two figures emerging from the water.

"Joel? What happened?"

"Ellie! Oh god, you're okay! I dealt with the monster, but then they killed them! Those cold blooded murders killed them!"

"Daddy! Please stop! Don't tell lies! I can see it in you!" The blond girl screamed at him. Joel twitched at pulled out his gun. It seemed to happen in slow motion. Joel pointed his gun at Clem, and fired. Seconds later, he shot at the blond girl, but he missed. Because Bigby punched him in the back of the head.

BIGBY P.O.V

I felt the mind control leave when I was at the bottom of the lake. Suddenly, I didn't know where I was, and who I had just eaten. But I knew I did. I felt sick. Memories started flooding in...of what I've done...I retched and two girls came out. Man...I'm disgusting. How am I going to apologize for this. Snows definitely firing me after this. I slowly shrunk a little bit back down. Good thing I can hold my breath. That's probably the only gift I ever got from my father. It really comes in handy when you get chucked in a river as much as me. But, anyway I smashed the ice open with my fist. I pulled myself out and stood up. But then my senses sharpened. I sprinted straight for Joel. The insanity got him. He was screaming at snow. I dashed faster...I couldn't make it. He had already fired at her, and the younger one too. He cocked a bullet into place and fired at Clem and lee. I quickly dashed in front of them. The bullets penetrated my skin, and it hurt. So bad I collapsed on the ground. I don't know what happened next. The next thing I know, is that Joel collapsed on the floor, and my fist was still swinging. I gasped and bounded to snow.

She was already cold to the touch. I cradled her corpse in my arms, and howled. It was the loudest howl I ever emitted. Wolves only howl like that when a loved one dies.

CLEMENTINE P.O.V

I shivered as he howled. I dont know what to do now. I looked up at Lee.

"Whats the plan?" I asked. Lee looked at me.

"I don't know sweetpea... " Lee said looking at everyone. I decided I wanted to go see if everyone was ok. I walked over to Ellie, the girl, and Joel first. Ellie and the girl had what looked like severe burns on their bodies. They were shivering next to Joel.

"Hey... are you guys ok?" I asked. Ellie looked at me but the girl had her eyes locked on Joel.

"No. Just, just leave us alone." Ellie said. I walked to The two women and Bigby. The two women had been shot. But I don't know if they were dead. I looked at the one who had the blue surrounding her. She was curled in a ball. Joel shot her through the back. Then I looked at the other women Bigby had in his arms.

"B-Bigby?" I said cautiously. He looked at me.

"Why. Why did you do this?" I asked. He didn't answer. He just went back to cradling the injured woman. I started to walk back to Lee. I was halfway to him when I felt an arrow pierce my right shoulder. I stared at Lee in shock before I collapsed on the ground. I heard screaming, then nothing.

JODIE P.O.V

NO! I ran over to Snow. When I reached her Joel shot my lower back. A sharp pain ran up my spine. I collapsed to the ground. I heard shouting as my vision became blurry. I started to glow as Aiden tried to heal my wound. I've only had him heal me when I was on the mission to kill a 'warlord', but I was shot through the leg, not the back. It took longer because it was on my lower back. After a while Clementine walked over to us. She was talking to Bigby. Then she walked away. I saw a figure up on the hill. I saw him raise his crossbow and shoot it. Then I heard Clementine yelp. I wanted to see what was happening but I couldn't move. Aiden had not finished healing me yet. All I could hear was shouting. Then I saw the figure up on the hill slowly reload his crossbow and walk down the hill. I wanted so much to warn them. It took awhile but Aiden had finally finished healing me. I quickly got up and shouted.

"LOOK OUT!" Everyone looked in my direction. They saw him. Lee picked up Clementine who had passed out from the shock, and ran away. But the man shot him in the leg and he collapsed, dropping Clementine like a ragdoll. The man approached forward. I ran towards him but only to be shot through the leg as well. I collapsed. I saw the man pick Clementine up and walk away with her into the woods.

ELLIE P.O.V

Sarah and me were crouched around Joel, shivering. I looked at my wounds, which stung like hell. I moaned. I stared at Joel. What was wrong with him? Why did he shoot Jodie and Snow? I sighed. I just don't know. Joel mumbled something but I couldn't make it out. Then I heard a scream. I looked up and saw Clementine collapse. Then everything went wrong again. A man came from the woods and started to shoot Lee and Jodie. He then took Clementine and carried her into the woods. Lee was screaming and trying to crawl after them but he was failing. Jodie was healing herself again. Whats happening. Its like we can never just have peace for even a second. I tried to shake Joel awake. Sarah helped. Joel awoke with a gasp. He quickly stood up and staggered over to Bigby who was cradling Snow. Sarah and I ran over to him. Joel looked at us. He shoved us back and took out his gun. He aimed it at me.

"Joel? What are you doing?!" I screamed. He locked the bullet into place and fired into my broken arm.

JOEL P.O.V

Ellie screamed. Bigby turned around, and tried to get the gun out of my hand. I jumped back and loaded a special bullet into place. His eyes widened, and he backed away. I aimed it at his heart, and shot it. He dropped to the ground, blood pouring from his chest. Jodie screamed, and ran up to him.

"He's not a monster! Your are! What the hell are you doing!" she screamed at me.

"Revenge." I said. and pulled out my flamethrower.

LEE P.O.V

I laid on the ground in pain. My leg was bleeding, and I think the crossbow bolt went through my leg. It was pinning me to the ground. It hurt like hell. I looked back at the hill just in time to see Bigby get shot. But this time, he flung into the ground. Clementine! I pushed myself up. Where was she? I stood up. Immense pain shot through my leg. And I fell back down. Joel was standing there. Then he started walking towards me, And locked his gun into place.

BIGBY P.O.V

It felt like a burning sensation. I had only been shot with a silver bullet once. It flipping hurt. I felt very weak. I tried to get up, but I couldnt. My eyelids shut, and I felt the sensation of all the pain leaving me. I had died. I knew it. I also knew I was going to hell. I was going to burn in hell. But I felt a floating sensation. I looked down. I saw my body, laying there. The creepiest feeling ran through me. I looked at my arm. I was back in my human form. But I knew that I could still shift. I was translucent. I was glowing whitish gray. I sighed. Well at least I didn't go to hell. But then I realized what I had to do. I broke into a sprint and flew through the trees. Then I saw the guy with Clementine. I growled.
