Chapter 22: Cannibals

TARA P.O.V

I watched as they struggled with the raging urge to eat. I laughed as the girl fell off the table. Oh, how I loved to watch them. I could turn them into my Tara Species soon enough. Yes... I watched as Jodie held herself back, as Bigby fought Joel, and as Clementine whimpered like a coward behind Bigby. That went on for another minute. Then I heard glass shatter. I whipped my head behind me.

"Damn it Lara!" I screamed at her. She was standing in the broken stained glass window seal. She hopped down to the floor, which was a 10 foot drop. But it didn't fraze her... she stood up in a powerful stance. She walked forward. Joel and Bigby stopped fighting, and they looked at Lara.

LARA P.O.V

What the hell was Tara thinking now? How could she do this? It's disgusting.

"Tara, end the spell." I said. She just stared at me, pissed.

"How dare you?" She said. I took a few steps forward.

"I said, let them go." I said sternly. She just narrowed her eyes.

"And why should I?" She asked

"If you don't I'll take them by force." I said.

"Then try." She dared me. I took out my AK-47 and pointed it at her. She smiled an evil smile. I locked it into place.

"Do it." She said. I did. I shot at her. Bullets sprayed at her head. But they bounced off.

"Sh**" I said under my breath as I dodged over to the table.

"Get down!" I said to the people on the table. They got down. But the man who had been poisoned pounced on me.

"Ugh! Get off!" I screamed. I held him back. But he was stronger. He gave up going for my neck, and went for my hands. He bit my writs.

"AHH!" I screamed. The blood dripped down my arm. I tried to kick him. He growled. He got up and staggered back. I quickly tried to stand up, but my hands slipped in the blood. I fell back down. He tackled me again. He bit into the back of my shoulder. Then the man who was on the table got him off of me. They wrestled each other. Then I finally stood up. I tried to run over to the young girl. She let out a small squeak as I lifted her up.

"Let me go! Who are you?!" She screamed.

"I'm Lara Croft. I'm an explorer. I'm here to save you and your friends." I said as I walked over to the other girl.

"Hey, get up. Were escaping." I said to her. She didn't answer.

"Hey, can you-" I was cut off. She screamed and turned around. She leapt at me. I staggered back. I turned and ran. I was slower with the girl in my hands. The two men were on the ground punching each other. The girl behind me dissapeard. The other girl who had blacked out, disappeared. The two men, disappeared. What was going on? The girl and I were the only two in the room. Then I heard a laugh. I looked around. The lights when out. Then 5 lights turned on one by one in a line. I looked down at the girl in my arms. What? What happened? Her nose was bleeding. Her wound on her forehead bled even more. Oh no. She opened her eyes.

"W- What's happening?" She asked. I looked around.

"I... I don't know."

JOEL P.O.V

That stupid Mutt! He wants to keep all the food to himself! We wrestled on the floor. At first, I was winning, but then bigby got the upper hand, and put me into a sleeper hold. I saw spots dance among my eyes, and I passed out. Then I woke up against the wall, tied up. I twisted my hands, but the rope was too strong. I will kill you, Mutt.

BIGBY P.O.V

Now that I got rid of Joel, I needed to find the others. And Clementine. I could feel the poison running through my brain, modifying my thoughts. But it was just hunger, and I have to deal with hunger every day. So I pushed it out of the way. I kicked down the door, and saw a woman carrying clementine. She looked at me in terror, and sprinted out of the cave.

"HEY! Get back here!" I yelled at her. She kept sprinting. I chased after her. It was a full on blizzard now. She got out of my sight, and I couldn't see her anymore. As I sprinted, I shifted. I could smell her running through the snow. I could hear how far away she was. I soon overpowered her, and pinned her to the ground.
