Chapter 24: Hope

JOEL P.O.V

I finally got free of the ropes Bigby had tied me up with. I sprinted out of the cave, and saw a trail of blood. My prey couldn't get far. I ran through the forest. I soon found a young girl lying next to a tree. I looked to the sky, and waited for it to come. I wasn't under the spell anymore, I just wanted to kill her. The stranger and the demon came up to me.

"Time to kill two birds with one stone." I said to them

The demon nodded, and opened a portal next to Clementine. Then he stuck his head in, and Bigby saw him. Bigby screamed in rage and jumped through the portal to tackle him, but he fazed through him. Landing on Clementine fangs bared. The Tara had realised the curse on Clementine and she was awake, and aware of her surroundings.

She then screamed, and took out her gun.

BIGBY P.O.V

What the heck? It was right there! I quickly got up and backed away.

"What the hell Bigby!" Clementine yelled at me.

"Clementine! Are you alright?" Joel asked, bursting from the trees. I turned to him.

"Bigby! Back away from Clementine! I dont want her to get even more hurt than she already is! everyone around you gets hurt Bigby! Just go away." He yelled at me.

"Clementine! Shoot Bigby! You have to! He killed Lee, and now he just tried to kill you! Shoot him already." I looked down. Mabey Joel was right. Maybe I should leave. I just hurt everyone. I killed Lee, and... I hurt everyone else. I turned away from Clementine, and started walking away as I heard the pistol be locked into place.

CLEMENTINE P.O.V

Tara was unconscious. How had that happened? All I remembered was being thrown against the tree. But now I had the pistol in my hands. My vision wasn't the best at the moment. I could make out blurry outlines of people in the snow. One of them was walking away. But I wasn't intending to shoot. What would happen if I shot Tara? I tried to cough first, the blood was still there. If I shot her would the spell end? Probably not. I squeezed my eyes shut, I don't want to think about this stuff.

"Clementine? What the hell? What did you do to her?" I heard Lara say. I opened my eyes.

"What? I didn't do anything. It was Bigby." Joel said. Wait... no. No it wasn't Bigby! Bigby didn't kill Lee! I saw images rush across my vision. I saw a black shadow creature approach Lee, lift him up, and rip his throat out. The look in Lee's eyes really got me. The fear was so real. I shook my head. I wanted to tell them the truth, and that Joel was lying, because he wanted him dead!

"Ngggggllgglgllg-" I tried to say no but instead a huge amount of blood spilled from my mouth. My eyes widened. I looked at them with fear in my eyes.

"S***. Its getting worse!" Lara said rushing over to me.

"Clem? Can you hear me? Clem? Clementine!" I could see her lips moving, but no sound. My eyes were now half closed. My mouth hung open and blood dripped down.

"CLEM!" She screamed, but I still couldn't hear her. About every four seconds, Lee's face in his final moments would flash in my head for a split second. Then it just started flashing like an animation, his throat being ripped out. No, stop! Please stop! Lara shook me.

"Whats wrong with her?" I saw Bigby approach. But then Joel tackled him to the ground. gurgled more but I just couldn't do it. I was dying and I couldn't do anything. A tear slid down my cheek. Then my hearing was back. But what I heard wasn't pleasant.

"How dare you do this to her! You monster! You're going to die for this! I swear Bigby!" Joel yelled at him.

"Clementine hates you! How could you do this to her?! She doesn't deserve this! End it or I'll end you!" Joel threatened. None of what he just said was true! Then Tara moved. Lara whipped her head around and tackled her before she could do anything.

"Take the spell off of Clem!" She screamed.

"Never!" Tara said. Lara punched her. She punched her again.

"If you think thats going to help, It's not. But I know what will." She said as she spit out a tooth.

"And whats that?" Lara said. Tara smiled an evil smile.

"You must surrender one of your friends here, to me." She said, wickedly. Lara thought for a minute. But my heart dropped when she said who she would surrender.

"Take Bigby." She said. No! I coughed and winced. Tara nodded in agreement. And with the snap of her fingers, the spell ended. I spit out the pool of blood in my mouth. Once it was all out I coughed again just to make sure, no blood. I looked back them. Lara had let Tara up and Tara wiped herself off. She then went over to Bigby who was struggling underneath Joel. Tears streamed down my face as she kicked him in the head, knocking him unconscious, and then take him wherever the hell she lived. Lara and Joel approached me.

"Oh my god, you're ok!" Lara said with open arms. I stood up.

"HOW F****** DARE YOU?!" I screamed. Lara looked surprised.

"What?" She asked putting her arms down.

"NONE OF THAT IS TRUE! YOUR A F****** LIAR! I DON'T THINK THAT ABOUT HIM! HE NEVER KILLED LEE!" I screamed. I couldn't control my tears. I ran over to the Tara Species Lara and Bigby had ridden on, and mounted it. I galloped it in the direction of the cave.

"Clementine, wait!" They yelled after me. But I wouldn't stop.

LARA P.O.V

Sh**... Why did I do that? I ran after her. I looked for the tracks in the snow, but they were quickly being covered with fresh snow. But I knew where she was headed. For the cave. When I got to the cave, I saw the Tara Species eating a twig. I entered the cave and looked around for Clem.

"Clementine!" I yelled. Nothing. Then I saw her dart into a room. I ran over to her. In the room were the people from before.

"Clem hes not here. She took him somewhere else." I said putting my hand on her shoulder.

"Don't touch me." She said quickly moving away from my touch.

"Look, I'm sorry-" I started.

"Shut up." She said. I closed my mouth. I wasn't doing any good.

"Clementine.... come here." A woman said. Clem looked at her with the saddest face. She ran over to her and hugged her. She sobbed into her shoulder.

"I know, I know." She tried to calm Clem down. I felt ashamed. Why did I do that.

JODIE P.O.V

The poor girl. I rubbed her back to try to comfort her. I felt so bad for her.

"Shhhh. Its ok." I said.

"No its not! Hes gone! Hes the one who tried to protect me when this all started! But everything that happened was a lie! I saw it! It wasn't him doing those things!" She balled. My eyes widened.

"Wait what?" I said holding her shoulders so I could see her face. It was red from crying and dry blood. She sniffled.

"When I was dying I saw the thing posses Bigby, then it... It killed Lee! I saw it kill him!" She said breathing between each word. She was clearly dramatized. I knew what had happened. Aiden had shown her the truth. I stared at her for a moment. I looked over towards Ellie and Sarah. Their eyes were wide open as well. Then I looked at Lara. Her face had a guilty sorrow look on it.

"I had no idea! I am so so sorry! I thought he killed your friend! Im sorry, I didn't know!" She said. Clem didn't answer. A single tear slid down her cheek. She just shook her head. I hugged her once more before standing up.

"We gotta go get Bigby. You have any idea where he might be?" I asked Lara. She nodded.
