Chapter 33

Lauren's P.O.V

I'm really happy that's over, like ecstatic and I truly don't need anymore excitement in my life. Now that that ordeal is over, Mani is talking about this vow renewal again...ugh. Everything is definitely back to normal...for the most part. That scare was a few weeks ago and since then...Camila been around a lot. Like...a whole lot and I'm okay with it, I think. I mean I don't know if she's just an affectionate person or something but she always finds some way to touch me. I feel like I might be being overly cocky right now but...is there a chance she wants me? I mean I'm still hot as hell but I'm married. I might be thinking too much into it because she does it to Mani too and speaking of Mani, she and Camila are like fucking bff's now. That's why Camila is around so often and when I ask Normani about it she says

"Camila is on her own. She doesn't have many friends and no family. She's Aiden's mother and we need to embrace her."

I think that's a bunch of bullshit. Since when is Normani nice? I know she's trying to accept Camila but Mani is just as slow to trust as I am. Camila must have really gotten to Normani or she'svis playing some game she hasn't let me in on yet. She may be buttering her up so she can sign the papers turning over her legal rights...How didn't I see that earlier? I love my wife's way of thinking.

"I love your head." I say as Normani walks into the bedroom. The look on her face makes me realize how that sounded.

"Wait, the way you think, your brain. Not oral."

"Why are you always so random?" She asks as she moves to the dresser.

"I'm not random. I've figured out what you're doing with Camila." I say. Normani gasps and puts her hand on her chest.

"You found out about the affair? I'm so sorry you found out this way Lauren." She says with a smirk and I roll my eyes.

"Please. Like you could cheat on me, I'm the best decision you ever made."

"No, I think that was my children."

"The children you wouldn't have without me which just proves my point." Normani glares at me and I chuckle.

"Anyway, you got all buddy buddy with Camila so she'll sign the papers didn't you?" I ask and Mani tilts her head and squints her eyes.

"What are you talking about?" She asks.

"She's around all the time now, why?"

"She's good company. You don't like Camila now?" She asks as she moves to the closet now.

"I'm not saying that, I'm saying is she your best friend now or something?" Normani looks through clothes as she responds.

"No, you know you're my best friend."

"Don't pull that mushy romantic shit. I'm serious." I say and Normani shrugs.

"I actually happen to like her, sorry and I wasn't being mushy, you are my best friend." She grabs a hanger with a shirt on it then throws it on her side of the bed.

"I like her too, but damn she does have a house?"

"So you want her here less?" She asks as she continues looking in the closet.

"It would be nice to be able to walk around in my boxers again."

"You do that with her here anyway."

"Not the point." I say and Normani sighs.

"Fine, after today she'll be here less."

"That's all I ask." Normani rolls her eyes and throws her jeans at me.

"She's on her way isn't she?" I ask and Normani nods.

"We're going shopping so you'll be alone today." That's the best thing I've heard since this conversation started.

"Well I'm not getting dressed so she'll just have to avert her eyes." Normani shrugs.

"What are you going to do for the day?"

"Probably see what's new with Chris, haven't talked to him in a while."

"Well if you go out, you can get started looking for Sierra and Jordan's Halloween costumes." Halloween is a big thing in this house. We all get costumes, throw a party, haunted houses and we make one in the back yard for the kids. It's just a fun time and Sierra is always scared shitless but insists on participating. Definitely one of my traits.

"You're going out, why can't you do it?" I ask.

"Because I asked you."

"Not good enough." I say and Normani rolls her eyes and grabs her clothes.

"Sierra wants to be a butterfly and Jordan wants to be a mutant ninja turtle. The orange one I think."

"Micheal Angelo?" Normani shrugs.

"The orange one." Then she walks into the bathroom.

I'd say Camila knocks on the door about ten minutes later and of course I have to open the door because Mani is still in the shower. She probably won't be ready for another twenty minutes.

"Don't look." I say as I open the door. I just have on a bra and boxers and it'll stay that way until I get ready to leave for the day. Camila chuckles and comes in the house.

"Why don't you have on any clothes?" She asks and I shrug.

"It's my house and I don't like clothes. Mani should be done in like twenty." I say and Camila nods then walks over to my fruit bowl.

"What do you plan on doing today?" She asks as she takes an apple and I shrug.

"I'll find something since you're stealing my wife." Camila takes a bite of her apple and I go to the refrigerator. Guess I should cook breakfast first.

"It's just for a few hours. You could go to the gym? You obviously do that often." I look back at her and her eyes slowly meet mine.

"I mean it looks like it. You're very...tone." She says.

"I work out a little..." I feel like I'm completely naked now and I'm not comfortable with it.

"It shows." She bites her bottom lip and looks me up and down when she says that. Okay, definitely time to put some clothes on.

"Well, I'm going to go let Mani know you're here." I say as I close the refrigerator door. Camila nods and quickly walk to my bedroom.

Okay, that was kind of weird but I am half naked and who knows whens the last time she got any. I probably just teased this woman and I have to admit it wasn't entirely appropriate to be undressed in front of her or any other woman for that matter who isn't Mani, Dinah, or Ally. I probably shouldn't do that again or mention it to Mani. As long as she just looks and doesn't touch, it's not an issue.
