Lauren's P.O.V

The day I've been dreading is finally over, or at least the few hours it took for this asshole to get sentenced, is over. Sadly, it didn't go over the way we wanted but it did go over the way we predicted. That dick was sentenced to 8 years, is ineligible for parole and is now a registered sex offender. I guess he doesn't have the connections he thinks he does. There is definitely some more legalities to the situation but I can't remember all of the charges. The important part is that we can finally start to move forward and leave this creep in the past.

Mani seems to be responding…pretty well given the circumstances. Normani held her own in court and hasn't given any signs that she's anything but happy or at the very least, content. I think we're finally going to start to get back to normal...well almost normal. Camila is still an issue. Aiden said he talked to her and told her he didn't want anything to do with her anymore but I guess after he said that, it really pissed her off. Camila called me pissed and is still trying to pursue this legally. At this point, it isn't much I can do but I don't know why she can't take no for an answer.

Aiden told me that they had a pretty big argument over him not wanting anything to do with her because she disrespected Normani. I guess she said something about Mani not being his real mother and he lost it. I wouldn't suggest ever saying anything like that to Aiden, he does not respond to that well. The only time he's ever gotten into a fight was over someone saying the exact same thing to him.

I'm currently waiting on Mani to get back home from her doctors appointment. The kids won't be home for another few hours and since Normani has been back to work, this is the only day she had to go to the doctors. I'm not sure why she didn't want me to go with her but it's fine. I hear the front door open from my place in bed and I get up and go see Mani in the kitchen.

"Hey gorgeous, how you feeling?" I ask. Mani walks towards me and hugs me then pecks my lips.

"Fine. I was recommend to see a therapist." She says then walks over to the refrigerator.

"Why?" I ask.

"Apparently I have some anxiety issues." She grabs a can of soda then closes the refrigerator door.

"I always knew you were crazy." Mani gives me the finger as she takes a sip.

"Is that the explanation for what's been going on with you?" I ask.

"The doctor seems to think so. I got some blood work done so I should be getting a call soon about the results." She tells me.

"I guess that makes me feel better." I shrug.

"I figured that's what it was anyway." Mani shrugs.

"So, what have you been up to today?" She asks and now it's my turn to shrug.

"Mostly just thinking. I've got a bad feeling about this Camila thing." I tell her and Mani sighs.

"What else could she possibly do Lo? If we have to go back to court then so be it." I shake my head.

"What do we really know about Camila?" I say and Normani's eyebrows furrow.

"What do you mean?" She asks.

"All we know is whatever she's told us right? Well she's already proved that she's a liar and hell, even somewhat delusional. What if she's been lying about who she is this entire time?" Normani looks thoughtful before speaking.
