Lauren's
I think I'm getting old...wait, no. School is just fucking stupid like it's always been. What kind of dumbass questions are these? How do you use a number line to round numbers? How would that even help you? What does this even have to do with real life? This is fucking stupid.
"Why do you look like you're having a harder time than he is?" I hear Mani ask from behind me.
"You help him with this shit." I say as I put Jordan's homework back on the dinning room table. Jordan laughs and I poke his forehead.
"Someone's frustrated. Grade school work too hard for you?" I don't even look at her when I respond.
"School just gets more and more pointless. He'll never need this in life. Ever. But I have to pay for this pointless education and he'll forget all of this in a month when summer starts."
"Don't say that. You'll make him not like school." Normani says as she walks over to the table.
"I don't like school. It's pointless like mami said."
"See what you've done?" Normani says while looking at me. I can't do anything but shrug. I did really well in school but that doesn't mean I enjoyed it.
"School is fun when you get older kid. There's parties, sports, girls."
"We're not talking about this. We just had an issue because one son was to into a girl." Mani says with a raised eyebrow.
"What did Aiden do?" Jordan asks and I shake my head.
"Pay attention to your homework." I slide the paper towards him and he pouts but puts the paper in front of him.
"Where's Sierra?" I ask.
"Aiden is helping her with her homework."
"Of course he picked the easy one." Mani rolls her eyes.
"Well I have to go back to work tonight apparently."
"Aw why? It's movie night." Jordan says with a pout. Normani looks at him then runs her fingers through his hair.
"I know but I can't get out of it. We're wrapping up our arguments and I need to throw in a little overtime before the hearing." Jordan sighs but nods his head.
"I'll make it up to you."
"How?" He asks as he squints up at her.
"We'll do whatever you want tomorrow." She tells him.
"Whatever I want?" He asks and Normani nods her head.
"Even laser tag?!" He says excitedly. Mani and I chuckle lightly as she nods her head.
"Yeah, even laser tag." One of the widest grins I've ever seen appears on his face which makes me laugh more.
"Yes!" Normani smiles and kisses his forehead.
"I should get going. I should be back by eleven hopefully." She says then comes to peck my lips.
"Have fun." I tell her.
"Yeah, there's nothing fun about working with him. Love you."
