Mani's P.O.V.

Ugh…I feel like…shit. Just pure shit. My head is fucking kill me god. What the hell happened? And what the fuck is that beeping noise? Turn it off! Fuck!

"Mmmm…" I mutter. God my throat is dry.

"Mani." I hear. I think that's Lauren's. I can't tell though because my eyes are too heavy to open.

"Mani." I hear again. That's definitely Lauren's voice.

"Stop beeping." My voice cracks at the end of my sentence. Fuck.

"Baby, can you open your eyes?" Lauren asks.

"Later…water." I hear her shuffling and then I feel her handing me a cup.

I sit up slightly and bring the cup to my lips. I open my mouth to take a sip and lie back down…something is off with this bed…will someone stop that fucking beeping! Wait, am I in a hospital? As hard as it is for me to open my eyes, I manage to get them open enough to see that I am in a hospital. What the fuck happened?

"Mani." I look to my left and see Lauren at my bedside. She runs her thumb over my forehead and sighs.

"Mrs. Jauregui?" I hear from my right. I turn my head and see a nurse.

"Hi, I'm Faith. I'm your nurse. Do you know where you are?" I shake my head no. Bad idea.

"You're in a hospital. Do you know why you're here?" She asks.

"No." I say.

"Is there anyway you can come back?" I hear Lauren ask.

Faith nods her head then tells me she'll be back. I turn towards Lauren and she strokes my hair. What the hell is going on?

"Why am I in a hospital?" I ask. Lauren sighs and sits down in the chair near my bed.

"Is everything okay?" I ask.

"Normani…the police believe you were drugged." What? Drugged? How?

"I was at work. I was drinking coffee. This doesn't make any sense."

"You know the date rape drug, right? Roofies? Well they were able to find it in your system and in the coffee you were drinking." What? I was drugged? I don't remember…oh my god…

"Did I get…" I feel tears immediately sting my eyes as my voice tapers off. Lauren shakes her head.

"When I got there, it seemed like nothing happened. They haven't…checked. They wanted to wait until they could get your permission." I can't believe this is happening…I feel Lauren wipe a tear from my cheek with her thumb and it sparks the flow of tears that follow. I can't believe this happened to me. I was taken advantage of. I feel Lauren wrap me in the tightest hug possible and I grip her as hard as I can. I can't grasp this reality…why? Why did this happen to me?

"Mani." Lauren says after my crying has slowed. I don't pull away but I do answer.

"I have to go." She says. I pull back far enough to see her face.
