Lauren's P.O.V.

This morning went the same as always. Kids got up, I made breakfast and they went on their way. I asked Mani if she'd go into work a little later today so that we could talk. She had no issues with it so now I'm just waiting for her to finish her shower. I'm hoping we can just move past all of this today and go back to being happy. I need to tell her about the other shit that happened with Camila too so there's no added issues. I sit in the kitchen and eat my sausage when Mani appears next to me. She takes the seat next to me and grabs her plate. Mani starts eating so I guess I should just start talking.

"So, I'm going to jump to the point. I'm sorry about what happened. I should have told you the second it happened and I fucked up." Mani looks up at me.

"Lauren, I do not care what happens. You talk to me about anything that has happened to you. I would have never thought you would keep something like that from me."

"I know. I don't always make the best decisions okay? But from now on, I'll never hold anything back again. I don't care what comes with me telling you, I won't omit anything ever again. I just want to move past this because that fucking psycho has done enough to my family." Mani nods.

"So why did Camila give me a totally different story from yours?" I shrug.

"No idea. Her story was tamer than what actually happened. If you wanted to piss someone off and fuck our relationship, why not just tell the truth?"

"To further confuse me. She wanted it to make it seems like you're both blatantly lying to me about what really happened. That's the only guess I have." Mani says.

"None of it makes sense to me and I'm not going to try to understand crazy. I have more to tell you though." Mani says nothing so I continue.

"I went to confront her yesterday and she tried to come on to me. She told me we were supposed to be together and she knows I want her. A bunch of crazy shit so I told her to stay away from us and she said she's going to take me to court."

"Court? For what? Aiden?" Mani asks.

"Yeah. Joint custody." Mani shakes her head.

"I feel like this was planned." I nod.

"Me too. It explains why she wouldn't sign over her rights. She's a psychopath."

"How are we supposed to tell Aiden about this?" Mani asks. I shake my head.

"I have no idea. I don't want him around her anymore." I say.

"But is that really fair to him? She hasn't done anything to him." I groan.

Mani is right. Camila hasn't done anything to Aiden. I can't just ex her out of his life like that if he doesn't want that. I don't want her to have any custody over him. I don't trust her with my son. There's no telling what she might try to do. For all I know she might try to kidnap him.

"If she takes me to court, what's the likelihood she'll win?" I ask.

"You sure you want the answer?" She says. Well that can't be good. I nod my head to her and she continues.

"It all depends honestly. There's probably a 50/50 chance she could win."

"Even with her past?" I ask.
