It was 5 in the morning when the alarm went off, instantly waking Peter up. "EVERYONE OUT OF THEIR CELLS, NOW!!!!" the guard yelled, and Peter obliged. The guard inspected every prisoner, including Peter himself. Once everyone was accounted for, the guard said, "alright everyone to breakfast!" The prisoners were then guided to their cafeteria to eat their breakfast. Peter was given mushy oatmeal and a banana. Although the food didn't taste well, Peter decided to just swallow it anyway. Once he was finished, Peter put his tray away. He then wondered what to do next. Suddenly, someone poked behind him. Peter turned around and saw another guard. "Peter Palmer?" the guard asked, "no wait, sorry. Peter Parker?" Peter cleared his throat and said, "Yeah, that's me. Is there something wrong, sir?"
"Nothing's wrong," said the guard, "your attorneys are here to visit you." Peter was then escorted into a private room. Inside the private room were two people. The first was a man in his late 30s early 40s, around 5'11, wearing a blue suit with a red tie. He also had sunglasses and a cane, appearing to be blind. The other was a woman in her late 20s early 30s, with blonde hair and grey eyes. She was 5'7, wore regular glasses, a black coat with a purple blouse, matching black skirt, grey pantyhose, and black high-heeled shoes. "Hello Mr. Parker," said the blindman, "we're your attorneys." He kindly offered his hand. Peter shook the man's hand. Peter took a seat and said, "Hi, nice to meet you... did I see you in a newspaper ad once?" The blindman chuckled and said, "Well, that was back when my legal firm was known as Nelson and Murdock. I'm Matt Murdock." The woman said, "and I'm Jennifer Walters, Matt's new partner. Well I'm not really his new partner because I've been his partner for 5 years. My cousin was very good friends with Mr. Stark." Peter gave a look of curiosity and asked, "Who's your cousin?" Jennifer smiled and said, "Bruce Banner." Peter's eyes widened in surprise as he said, "The Hulk? No way!" Jennifer chuckled a little and said, "Yes way. When you surrendered to the cops, Mr. Hogan called Matt and I, and hired us to be your lawyers. We're part of the legal firm Murdock, Walters, and Page." Peter raised his hand and asked, "What happened to Nelson?" Matt sighed and said, "during "The Blip" Foggy was one of the many to fade away. When he supposedly died, Karen Page and I went to find someone who could take Foggy's place. We hired young lawyer Jennifer Walters, and she's been with this Law Firm since. When Foggy reappeared, he allowed Miss Walters to stay, and Foggy is now currently running for district attorney. I have faith in my old friend that he will succeed." Peter smiled a little.
"Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, Mr. Murdock and I are going to ask you several questions that should help you with your trial," said Jennifer. Peter nodded, indicating he was willing to cooperate with his lawyers. "First question, is it true that you're Spider-Man?" Matt asked. Peter sighed and said, "I've been trying to hide that I am Spider-Man from everyone I care about. During my European trip, I really did try to hide it. But I guess it's no use denying it. I am Spider-Man." Matt listened to Peter's heartbeat, and he knew that the young man wasn't lying. "Second question, did you murder Quentin Beck?" Jennifer Walters asked. "No, he tried to kill me and I defended myself," said Peter. "Wait, Beck tried to kill you?" Jennifer asked, surprised. "Beck wasn't who he says he was," said Peter, "he wasn't from an alternate dimension. And those 'Elemental Monsters,' were just projections made to look extremely realistic. They're state-of-the-art, an advanced virtual reality that made me hallucinate my worst fears. And all that damage those 'Elementals' made were caused by drones. Mysterio lied and purposely caused damage to make himself look like the hero." Jennifer whispered to Matt, "is he lying?" Matt listened to Peter's heartbeat and whispered, "He's telling the truth." Jennifer smirked and said, "looks like the great Mysterio suffers from A Hero's Syndrome." Matt rubbed his chin in surprise. "Where are these projectors and drones?" Matt asked. "The drones are in outer space, on a Stark Satellite, and the projectors are in the custody of SHIELD and Happy Hogan," said Peter. Matt listened to Peter's heartbeat. Everything Peter said was true. Matt looked at Jennifer and said, "Mr. Hogan was right. Peter was framed."
"Here's what we're going to do Mr. Parker," said Jennifer, "Matt and I are going to be your defense attorneys. We'll talk to people who witnessed the carnage, and we'll also talk to those personally close to you." Matt nodded and said, "although your identity has been exposed, I promise you, we will see to it you are proven innocent." Peter smiled and said, "Thank you both so much!" And Peter felt hope for the first time since he kissed MJ.
