James x reader

I walked out to the court yard and sat down quickly under my tree as I pulled out my text book. I wasn't really looking forward to today because it was a free day therefor no classes to distract me from my thoughts of a boy who would never love me.

I sighed as I looked down at my seventh year text books as My best friend walked over to me and promptly plopped down next to me.

"Hey lil." I said as she moved a strand of red hair out of her face. Before she could respond the guy I dreaded seeing walked in along with his three friends.

The one and only James Potter. I caught my eyes travel over his amazing body and they got stopped on his handsome face. His eyes wandered around the court yard looking for someone and I sadly knew who. It was gonna be the same thing it had been every single day. And of course my eyes quickly casted down when his eyes landed... on the girl right next to me.

"Ah Evans! There you are!" He said as he sauntered over. I sighed deeply and Lily looked at me worried. But once again before she could say anything James said something. But I tuned it out. It was the same thing it was every day.

He was asking Lily out... again. Tears stung my eyes but I didn't dare let anyone know nor let them fall. I looked up at the four boys. My eyes trailing from James going to the annoying and strange secretive one Peter who I didn't pay much mind to.

To the shy nice book worm Remus Lupin. His eyes where locked on my and he looked as if he could read my thoughts. I gave him a small fake reassuring smile. Remus was always kind to me and I felt like he knew my secret but I ignored it.

My eyes then moved to the 'bad boy play boy' Sirius Black. I knew he wasn't really like that. Deep down he was kind and he cared. And he didn't sleep around with all those girls it was just a rumor he didn't feel like shutting down. And he was just as smart as James. But Remus was the smartest.

I looked back at my text book as the boys now went to go sit across the court yard still in my line of vision. One year escaped and I promptly wiped away hoping no one had noticed.

To my pleasure if Lily did she didn't say anything and aloud me to continue reading. But what I didn't know is that a certain boy with messy jet-Black hair had seen me wipe away my tears. And he felt his chest tighten.

James's P.O.V

I walked away from Y/n and Lily not fazed at the fact once again she had said no. But what did seem to faze me is when I looked over I saw y/n wiping tears from her face. My chest tightened and I got the over whelming urge to go over and comfort her, to hold her close to me and tell her everything would be ok.

I shook away the feeling and continued to mess around with my friends.... but no matter what I did, it lingered. It lasted for a month before I finally understood I had begun to fall for the y/h/c haired girl. And I had fallen quickly and hard.

Time skip Your P.O.V.

For a month this went on. James asked out lily every day and every day it managed to hurt worse and worse. It began to hurt so bad that the second he entered a room me and Lily where in and he hadn't asked her out tears stung my eyes.

I so desperately wanted him to notice me. But I knew he never would. I was just the Slytherin girl who no one liked. But after a month it all stopped. He would walk into the room and wouldn't pay any mind to Lily.

Then another month passed and still he hadn't asked her out. I couldn't help but feel over joyed, maybe I finally had a chance! I was walking alone next to the black Lake. But that was to be excepted because it was around three in the morning and waaaay after curfew.
