who knew it would play through?
all the lies were somehow true.
amber lights shined through your hair onto our hands.
we danced on top of the stars.
you held me close to give the illusion you cared.
we didn't pay attention to what was happening around us.
it turns out when i saw the universe in your eyes, i wasn't right.
it was only a chaotic mess of my needs.
discovering the galaxy took an infinity.
damaging words used against me, fell for someone who was never looking to catch me.
you always mentioned you were blinded by my beautiful.
i believe you were referencing to your ignorance.
you claim it's my fault this happened.
yet, you were the one who fucked me up.
you said i would be nothing if i left you behind.
i think i'm over it, then suddenly you're my moon again.
i'm gullible to no end.
we're strangers when we see one another.
it's what's easiest on both of us.
in reality, we hold each others' secrets.
i'm continuing to pretend i'm not hurt, since it's clear you're not acting.
i thought this was genuine.
i didn't realize it was a show for your entertainment.
once you became bored, you cancelled it.
you choose to believe none of it happened.
you don't want to be seen as a terrible person.
after all, you're not the same you from the past now.
i wish my existence was enough for you; i should've known it never would be.
