You were always there
Through the good times
Through the bad times
You were there for me when I needed you the most
I always loved everything about you
Your bubbly smile
Your loud laugh
Your cheerful attitude
But then I saw you crying in the corner of room
An empty space where nobody would look
I didn't approach, not knowing what to do
I left you that day, tired and confused
I didn't see you the next day
or the next
or the next
Why were you crying that day?
If I knew the answer
Would you be here today?
A couple of days went by
Where in the world are you now?
I miss you
I miss you and I miss you
How can I get you back again?
You were dead
Victim of hit and run
Is this a cold-blooded dream?
Or a realistic nightmare?
Can't I just wake up and see your bright smile again?
Just what were you hiding behind that smile?
A hundred problems?
A thousand thoughts?
A million dreams?
If I helped you that day
the way that you made me okay
Would you be by my side today?
If I were able to get closer to the answer
Would you just be okay?
Can you just give me an answer before I run away and scream?
