Of course, your friends released that creep. But only on one condition. Apparently, Zarkon arranged a trade. Lotor for Pidge's dad. You didn't trust him, honestly. But most of the others did.
Also, Shiro was starting to act weird...er. He kept snapping at Lance—even though you knew Lance was obnoxious, it still wasn't in Shiro's personality to do so. But even when Lance wasn't being an annoying brat on purpose, he still got yelled at often. So, that was odd. Perhaps the old man was just stressed out, which you could understand.
But about the trade; you thought it was a horrible idea. But Pidge insisted on doing it—even if it meant the team would be put in danger. So much was going on—you were starting to mentally fall apart again. Because who in their right mind would trust Zarkon? He somehow always found a way to bend the truth. He's just a crook.
Right now, you were observing the conversation the team was having with Lotor. Lotor kept trying to convince them Zarkon was lying—which you did believe. But you didn't trust anything else about him.
"WE GOTTA FIND MY DAD," Pidge shouted, obviously in distress.
"Are you sure we can trust him?" Lance wondered.
"Who cares about the old geezer—he'll probably die of heart attack the minute we get him."
"No one wants your opinion, Slav."
"Oh, my gosh," you interjected. "Do any of you ever shut up?"
"Well, what's your opinion?" Hunk wondered.
"Look, if it was anyone else, I'd be all for it," you explained. "But since it's Zarkon—I don't believe a thing him or his no-good son says."
". . ." Pidge only glared at you. You've never seen her with so much contempt in her eyes. Oh, well. Easy come, easy go. "I don't care! THIS IS THE ONLY CHANCE WE'LL GET TO SAVE MY DAD!"
Suddenly, the door opened. You all turned to see Matt with about a dozen furries packed in with him. The conversation abruptly stopped—because you were all too focused on the scene.
So, you asked, "Uhm. . .whatcha got there?"
Matt held out his cup. "A smoothie."
Pidge ran up and grabbed her brother's arm. "SEE? MATT IS HERE TO SUPPORT ME, ISN'T THAT RIGHT, MATT?"
"Once you deleted my Pokémon: Special Pikachu Edition save file for the Gameboy when you were three so, hahaha, no."
Pidge sneered. "THIS IS IMPORTANT THOUGH."
"WELL, POKEMON WAS IMPORTANT TO ME TOO SO—"
"Wow." Everyone just watched them fight. Finally, after that—Pidge explained the situation.
"Oh, Dad." Matt looked off into oblivion. "I remember when I used to make peas for him, and he told me how much he loved them. That was the only time I ever felt respected."
"Literally, no one cares," Lotor responded from across the room. Matt glowered at him.
"Look, are we making the trade or not?" you sighed.
"Probably not," Lance answered, confident in what he was saying.
"Wow, I can't believe we're doing this," you broke the silence. A few hours ago, you were safe inside the Castle. Now, you were on this desert of a planet, about to make a trade with Zarkon himself. Somebody was probably going to die.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you~" Matt flirted.
"How so?" you challenged.
"Because I'll use the force." Matt held his staff vertically to his face, closing his eyes and focusing.
"Yeah, you do that."
"I'M SO EXCITED, WE'RE FINALLY GONNA GET DAD BACK!!" Pidge squealed.
"Heh, in your dreams," Lotor answered—slightly raining on her parade.
For now, you all just waited. After a while, this large intimidating ship showed up. Everyone grew tense, yet did their best to conceal it. Once the doors came down, Zarkon was revealed. He had Pidge's dad on one side, and the rest of his minions were in the back.
"DAD!" Pidge frantically called.
"That boy looks old enough to be my grandfather," you remarked—attempting to lighten the seriousness.
"We literally out here risking our life for a dude who looks 70," Lance commented.
"He looks like one of the Bee Gees—"
"Okay, we get it. You all think he looks old," Matt huffed.
"You really don't want to do this," Lotor once again reminded in his panicked—yet charming—tone.
"Shush," Shiro demanded. "Now, you just walk over there to Zarkon's ship once we give you the signal."
"Fine. . ." Lotor decided not to argue. Smart.
After a few minutes, the trade officially began. Pidge's dad began walking your way, and Lotor in the opposite. Still, you felt as if something bad was bound to happen.
And of course, it did. Turns out, the dad was a hologram—and now Lotor and Zarkon were fighting. You weren't quite sure what was happening. But hey, at least nobody died?
Welp, Zarkon died. Now, Lotor was your ally again. Right now, you were following after Pidge, Shiro, and Matt. Lotor allowed them to access one of the ships, because that's apparently where the dad really was.
"Where is he??" Pidge questioned in a spazzed out tone. Matt had to reassure her everything was going to be okay—while you and Shiro just awkwardly existed. At last, the four of you found these three alien girls, the ones who were piloting the ship. It looked like they had the dad, but they weren't going to give him up so easily.
"GIVE BACK MY DAD!!!" Pidge screamed as she tried to punch the bigger one in the face with her Bayard. Matt started whacking the chicks with his stick, while Shiro was trying to get ahold of the ship—and you were just trying to get a signal on your communicator, because you wanted to contact Keith. But no luck.
That's when Ezor, the one alien girl that had the thing sticking out of her head, lunged toward you. "AHA!!"
"GAH—" you fell back, which gave her a stronger advantage to do something. However, you swiftly pulled out your sword and started engaging in battle. It felt like forever—but eventually, the chaos ended. Pidge managed to open up the airlock, and so that sucked them out. What a rush.
"DAD!!" Pidge and Matt called as they pulled him into a wholesome embrace. You and Shiro watched the cute scene.
"Chirren, I knew you would come for me," the old fossil expressed. "I love you two so much."
"You too, Dad," Matt laughed. Pidge just snuggled in, looking happier than ever. It almost made you feel jealous.
"Oh," the dad turned to you and Shiro. "Shiro! It's been so long, but thank you for taking care of them."
Shiro rubbed the back of his head. "No problem. They're good kids."
The dad then focused his eyes on you. "Ooooh, is this a girl, I see? Matt, did you get a girlfriend?" he teased.
"No, she's (Y/N), Keith's girlfriend," Pidge playfully answered. You only rolled your eyes while chuckling—even though you being his girlfriend wasn't official yet.
"I see~" he winked. "My name is Sam, by the way."
Toward the end of the day, you all headed back on the Castle. It was certainly a long day packed with lots of action—but at least Zarkon was gone. Even if Lotor was the one who got rid of him. However, maybe Lotor was good. Perhaps you misjudged. . .
