Fowl Manor
Artemis sat in his study, meditating. He had been working on a new invention, and there were still a few components missing. Artemis sat there for a while longer, until there were a few ideas swirling around in his mind. He got up and stretched before sitting down at his desk. He unlocked a drawer and pulled out a notebook and pen. In it, he kept ideas he had previously thought of. He turned to a clean page and wrote down his new idea.
Feeling satisfied, he left his study. He checked his watch and saw that it was almost one o'clock. Artemis traveled down the hallway, stopping at the door to his room. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him. He ran a hand through his raven hair and sighed. His relationship with Holly had become increasingly difficult. Artemis just couldn't sort out his feelings. Artemis knew that he needed to come to a conclusion, but just couldn't. I'm a genius. I should be able to realize how I feel. As this was wreaking havoc in Artemis' brain, his communicator buzzed.
"Hello, Holly."
"Hi, Artemis. How are you?"
"I am fine. Is everything going well in Haven?"Artemis asked.
"Yeah, everything is fine. Some of the young goblins have been acting up, so I've been busy lately."
"Hopefully that will get taken care of soon. How is Commander Root?"
"He's fine, but I'm beginning to wonder if his complexion is ever going to return to normal." Holly said with a short laugh.
Artemis chuckled softly."That is definitely questionable."
"Right now, I'm walking through Police Plaza. This is the danger zone. Root could see me at any moment."
"I wish you good luck, then."
"D' Arvit!" Holly swore. "You must not be very lucky, mud boy. As soon as you said that, Root yelled at me."
"My apologies. I didn't realize I would have that effect." Artemis said, his voice filled with laughter.
"I'm not gonna talk to you anymore." Holly huffed. "That means I have to go."
"Alright, Holly. It was nice talking to you. Even if only for a minute. Stay safe."
"Thanks, Artemis. I enjoyed talking to you. Now, don't do anything that will endanger the world in the next few days."
"Don't worry, I won't."
"Good. Bye!"
"Goodbye."
I don't think I will, anyways. At least, I hope not.
