He turned back with a smirk on his lips as he eyes you carefully, you stayed put, your back pressed up against the wooden bookshelf, breathing heavily. That just happened..

Your head felt like it was spinning, Loki's face was lit up by the orange glow of the fire, and the small lit candles.

"Do- do you always do that to people..?" You asked a dazed, your hands were shaking with what just happened.

Loki looked off for a short moment and grinned to himself, his eyes flickered back to you, he licked his lips quickly, and took in a heavy breath.

"Not, not necessarily.." His grin made your stomach turn with butterflies.
You chuckled softly, remembering you were still leaning on the bookshelves for support, you stood straight, tucking your hair behind your ears as you strolled to him.

Loki picked up a book from his desk and held it in his bare hands he turned back sitting in the edge of the table.

You went to sit in the chair next to the fire but his helmet sat neatly on the chair, the horns glowing up by the orange fire.

You were hesitant to touch it at first in slight fear that he would get frustrated, but nothing happened.

So you gripped onto the helmet and it was much heavier than you had expected, the horns weren't hollow, it showed to be filled with a golden metal or gold in general, you held the horned helmet and looked down, rubbing your fingertips along the smooth and engraved edges and patterns, it was weird to think that Loki worn this in battle a lot.

To think that this helmet that he wore has been through death and pain, that this is worn by a god.

You breathed in with astonishment as you stared down at the golden horned helmet.

"Horny.." you chucked, as you looked at the big curved golden horns that were wielded to the helmet. Your eyes lit up and drifted up to where Loki was,  he was looking at you, calmly and patiently.

"What?" He questioned, with a small smile at the edges of his lips.

You shook you head with a small giggle, " just a midgardian thing."

You looked back down at the helmet and took the horned possession and placed it on the desk, and slid it to him.

He raised one eyebrow and out his book down next to him, he cleared his throat and picked up his helmet.

It was easy for him, lighter than butter, he traced his thumbs along the engravings, and smiled to himself.

You could see Loki smile to himself, "what's so happy?" You asked, sitting in the warm wooden chair next to the fire, your knees tucked into your chest.

He sighed and gave the helmet a pat on the top, and placed it back on his desk, "this has been with me through so much, it's just uh weird to think about."

Your eyes were drifted but you forced them open to look at him, Loki's voice was so comforting and relaxing, it made you loose your muscles, you snuggled your head into you shoulder as you blinked softly.

"I got my first helmet when I was young, I don't even remember how old I was." Loki chuckled softly staring off into his memories.

"Thor, he got his first sword when he was just a young boy, the years go fast.." he trailed off, telling stories of his childhood.

"I didn't even know I was a frost giant, until.. I got touched by one, I thought it would hurt but in the end it didn't, my skin turned blue and I felt myself go cold, I realised that I wasn't a Asgardian..." he sighed gently, looking over to you, you gave a small tired smile as listened to him.

You watched him softly, watched his features as he spoke, watched his eyes slowly blink as he went off into his memories, you watched his dark hair move gently as he moved his head, his pals skin that glowed with the burning fire.

You heard him pause for a brief moment, "I'm sorry about New York, I had been thinking about this for a long time, since I was practically rotting in my own misery and guilt." He swallowed, you closed your eyes and listened to his voice, vibrate to your ears.

"I ugh don't apologize often, especially to Midgardians or-" he sighed shaking his head.

A smile came up on your chapped lips as you slowly drifted off.
"It's okay." You softly whispered, closing your eyes.

His voice sending you to your
dreams...as you fell asleep.
