"If i can still breath, i'm fine." Your irrational anger got the better of you, you snapped towards Loki, frustratedly.

You wanted to psychically train with him after the incident with the man who was in Loki's chamber a few months ago, you wanted to train to get physically stronger, not just mentally, not anymore.

He had been training you every day since it happened, you could start to see improvement but your body began to grow tired, as you were too focused to sleep.

Loki insisted that you took a break and rested but you didn't want to, you pushed yourself more and more everyday, to the point you would think you'd break.

You wiped the sweat off your forehead and lashed your axe towards Loki's two long swords, he stepped back using the swords as an 'x' to block your hit, he pushed off with such force that the axe flew out of your hand and straight into the ground.

"You're getting weaker, Y/n, you're not resting enough to fight well." He told you, he was barely out of breath, he is a god of course..

You shook your head, your hands gripping the handle of your weapon, you desperately tried to tug in out of the ground that it had wedged itself into, it didn't move.

"No. No i need to do this, i can't be weak like that anymore, what if that happens again, and- and you're not there?" Your breaths started to get quicker as your body panicked in frustration as the axe wouldn't come out of the ground.

"Calm down. You will be okay, you hear me?" You didn't hear him, you gritted your teeth as you began to tug with a greater force on the axe, nothing.

Loki stopped and stepped back, to spectate, silently and patiently, waiting for your burst of anger to fade, but it only grew stronger.

Your chest heaved up and down, breath after breath, it was unnatural to breath at this pace.

Without thinking you casted a ball of fire into your palm and threw it towards the ground that the axe was stuck between, a loud explosion occurred and it made the other fighter stop and freeze, their eyes slowly panning over to you.

Loki blocked the few bits of earth that came his way, he stepped back and his eyebrows furrowed, he was worried for you, he felt empathy, he knew what you felt.

The axe laid on its side, a small sized hole had been curved out, around it was covered with burned earth that had been hit by the fire, and scorched the grass.

You breathes started to slow down as you realised that you had gone too far, as to damage the property of the training grounds.

You looked up to see people stopping in the middle of their battles to look at what happened, but as they saw you they carried on, like as if they were on pause and were pressed on play.

Shakily, you bit your nailed fingers, your eyes focused on no one but the ground that has come up, the earth broken and spread along the grass.

Just as you knew Loki would speak you spoke out, "Don't."

The heat in your fingertips still lingered as you stood still, you thought you had your power contained, controlled, it was clear that you didn't.

Loki was right, you weren't well, you needed to rest, to be in a clear mind. He was always right.

You turned yourself away from Loki as you felt your face ball up into tears, "i'm sorry."

As soon as you spoke, your voice breaking, he was right by your side, his hand holding yours softly, his thumbs rubbing the skin slowly and comfortable.

The tears made it impossible to see but you looked up at him anyway, "I just don't want to feel like i need to rely on someone," you sniffled.

"to save me." You took your free hand and rubbed it frustratedly over your eyes, cleaning the tears away.

"Y/n look at me," Loki spoke firmly, his voice wasn't soft or quiet, instead it was rushed.

You did.

You could finally see him clearly, you could see how beautiful he was, more beautiful up close than ever before.

He looked into your eyes for a moment or two before speaking.
"Even if you're the strongest being in the universe, i will still try my best to protect you. I will protect you with my life."
