The click of the door, as it closed behind Khushi, woke Arnav up the next morning.
"Dammit. I can't believe I missed her again," he thought. He hadn't been able to speak to her last night but had counted on this morning. He needed to make sure she was okay. Cutting his losses, Arnav got ready for the day.

At breakfast, Arnav pulled out a chair as Khushi walked to the table. She ignored him and sat as far away as possible. It worried him when she wouldn't meet his eyes.
"Jijaji, aap bhaiyon ne kya plan banaya hai aaj ke liye?" [Jijaji, what have you brothers planned for today?] Khushi asked Akash, though the question was clearly intended for Arnav as well.
"Wohi jo har saal karte hai. Hum breakfast ke baad Di ke liye gift lene jaa rahe hai." [Same as every year. We are going to go buy gifts for Di after breakfast.] Akash answered.
"Bas itna hi? Ek hi behen hai aapki aur bas ek tohfa deke baat khatam? Hum sabko Di ke liye kuch khaas karna chahiye." [That's it? She's your only sister and you're just going to buy her a gift? We should do something special for Di.] Khushi frowned at Akash, NK, and Arnav.
"You are right. Di has been through a lot this year. Unhe hame dikhana hoga ki hum sab unse kitna pyaar karte hai. Aur woh hamare liye kitni important hai." [You are right. Di has been through a lot this year. We have to show her how much we love her and how important she is to us.] Arnav declared.
"Bahot hi achha sujhaav hai. Hum khud aapan haath se Anjali bitiya ka manpasand khaana banayenge." [It's a great plan. I will make Anjali's favorite food.] Nani said.
"Sasuma, hum aapko helpiya det hai." [Sasuma (mother-in-law), I will help you.] Mami offered.
"Hame poore ghar ko decorate karna chahiye. Yeh Kaksha Bandhan Di ke liye bahot special hoga," [We should decorate the entire house. This 'Kaksha bandhan' would be very special for Di.] NK jumped in.
"Kaksha bandhan naahi NK babua, Raksha Bandhan." [It's Raksha Bandhan not Kaksha bandhan.] Mami corrected.
"Hamare paas kamaal ka idea hai! Aap teeno ko kurta pehenna chahiye. Di aapko paramparik kapdo mein dekh kar bahot khush ho jayengi." [I have a genius plan! You three should wear kurtas. Di will be so happy to see you in traditional clothes.] Khushi said.
"Baaki sab theek hai. Par main kurta nahi pehenuga." [Everything else is fine but I won't wear a kurta.] Arnav refused.
"Par Arnavji—"
[But Arnaji—]
"Nahi Khushi. I am not comfortable."
[No Khushi. I am not comfortable.]
"Theek hai" [Okay.] Khushi pouted.
"Chalo phir kaam pe lag jaate hai." [So let's get started.] Payal said as she started clearing the plates. Meanwhile, Khushi made sure everyone was assigned a task. Arnav stayed back to catch Khushi alone.
