The heavy atmosphere in the house disturbed NK. He couldn't bear the fact that Shubh's first day here was one of pain. In an attempt to cheer everyone up, he insisted that they all have dinner together and make sure that their favourite dishes were prepared.

The tense silence was pierced by Arnav's ringtone. He got up to take the call but didn't leave the room.

"What is it, Aman?"

"I thought you were handling that deal."

"I understand. I hope she recovers soon. Let me know if you need anything. I will see you after I come back from Pune."

Arnav ended the call and returned to his family.

"All okay bhai?" Akash asked.

"Yeah. Mujhe kuch dino ke liye Pune jaana hoga."

[Yeah. I'll have to go to Pune for a few days.]

"Anubhuti wali deal ke liye? Aman jaaane wala tha na?

[For the Anubhuti deal? Wasn't Aman going to go?]

"His mom is not well."

"Main chala jaunga."

[I'll go.]

"No Akash. You stay home. It's best that we are away from the house for a few days." Arnav turned to Khushi. "Khushi hum kal subah niklenge." [Khushi, we'll leave tomorrow morning.] She was clearly delighted. She was about to say something but Dadi interrupted her.

"Aaj kal ki bahuon ke aise sanskaar hai? Tumhara kartavya ghar ka khayal rakhna hai." [Are these the values of daughter-in-laws these days? Your duty is to take care of the house and family.]

Arnav saw the light go out of Khushi's eyes. He was about to defend her but stopped when he felt Khushi grab his hand. Their eyes met and she shook her head at him.

"Nahi, Arnavji. Aap chale jaiye. Hame Di aur Shubh ke saath waqt bitana hai." [No Arnavji, you go ahead. I want to spend time with Di and Shubh.] Khushi said. Arnav wanted to respond to that but he couldn't with the whole family present. He freed his hand from Khushi's, picked up his plate, and stormed up to his room.

When Khushi came into the room, she saw Arnav packing his clothes. There was another open suitcase lying on the bed next to his.

"Mujhe laga aap sirf teen-chaar dinon ke liye jaa rahe hai? Dusre suitcase ki kya zarurat hai?" [I thought you were only going for two-three days? Why the second suitcase?]

"Woh tumhare liye hai. Jaldi apne kapde pack kar lo." [That one's for you. Pack your clothes fast.] Arnav said, without glancing up from what he was doing.

"Hey Devi Maiyya! Iss ziddi Laad Governor ka hum kya kare?" [Hey Devi Maiyya! What do I do with this stubborn Laad Governor?] She began to close the second suitcase on the bed but was stopped by Arnav grabbing her wrist. "Arnavji, aap samajh kyun nahi rahe?" [Arnavji, why can't you understand?]

"Main sab samajhta hoon," [I understand everything] he said as he gently moved his hand from her wrist to her elbow, drawing her closer, so she couldn't avoid his gaze. "I know tum mere saath aana chahti ho. Neeche jo kuch bhi hua, Dadi ne jo bhi kaha... That's why you're hiding what you really want." [I know you want to come with me. Everything that happened downstairs, everything Dadi said...That's why you're hiding what you really want.]
