It's late and I know that but, I was sitting in the forest, in the tree me and Cole went to when we were kids and upset. I'm upset. Of course I am.
I was hugging my bag close to my chest. I heard the leaves on the ground rustle but, I didn't move. I had my eyes closed and I laid across the branch that is mine.
"Ashy." I heard Cole. I jumped and almost fell off the branch but, he was there to catch me. By the feet. "Cole. I thought you knew not to jump scare me." I whined as I was hanging upside down from a tree.
He chuckled quietly. "I'm sorry. I forgot your jumpy." He said quietly while pulling me up. I let a sigh of relief out as I'm not dead. I knew he was looking at me but, I was looking down at my lap where I had my hands folded together tightly.
One of his large hands went over my two small hands that are folded together. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. It was absolutely out of line and my ceremony is after yours. My dad changed. He's better now. I'm doing it for me and the both of you." He said.
"You aren't going to be happy with one of my trials to become one." I said. "Why?" He asked. "I have to dance... in the bar on the pole." I said quietly.
I felt him tense up. His arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer to him. "Do you still have to join?" He asked. I chuckled. "Cole. My eyes are on you and only you. Just. Remember. Only you." I said.
"Long as you know that my eyes are only on you too. And that if anyone touches you, I swear I'm going to kill them." He said.
"I have a question." I said. He hummed in response while laying his head on my shoulder. "How long have you feel this way about me?" I Asked.
"Years. But, I knew you liked Austin." He said. "Maybe if you told me, my eyes would come clear and realize you were the actual one for me. So we could be together longer." I said.
"We will be together longer if we stay together. Because you aren't going anywhere and I'm not going anywhere. You are my queen." He said. "And I'm not going anywhere. You are my king." I said. He smiled. I smiled.
