"Come in." I heard Mr. Dale say. I opened the door and walked in. "Is everything alright Ashleigh?" He asked worried. "Yes. I just wanted to talk about an event and see if you didn't mind if I set it up." I said.
"What's the event for?" He asked. "It's charity. To help get track back up and running, help with other sports, and school upgrades." I said.
"It sounds like a really good idea but, I don't know Ashleigh." He said. The door opened and the sheriff walked in.
"I'm just going to wait here." Sheriff said while looking down. "I will be donating a large amount if we do it anyway. I think it will be very helpful to the school." I said.
"When will it be?" He asked. "Next Saturday on the seventeenth. From six pm to eleven pm." I said. "You will be the planner." He said. "Yes. Will you help host this event?" I Asked. "I will." He said.
"So we can do this." I said. "You can do it." He said. I smiled and got up with my laptop before walking out. I walked to the newspaper department room where my friends were all conversing with Cole. I sat down when the sheriff walked in. "Ashleigh. Your father asked me to ask you if you would help bail him out." He said.
"After he shot me, wanted to get my brothers to plead guilty, brainwashed my mom over twenty years, ripped my twin away from my mom seventeen years ago. No thanks. I prefer leaving him behind bars." I said.
"I only said this because he's threatening your mother." He said. I went quiet and I knew all eyes were on me. "Take me to that bastard." I snapped standing up. He sighed and nodded. I gathered my things and followed him and we arrived at the station.
We got to the holding cells and I saw him. "Listen here bastard, you don't threaten my mom. You have no idea what I'm-." I stopped when I realized that Peter was being brought in. I sighed.
"Threaten my mother again I swear I'm going to ruin you. Not that oh so perfect face of yours. Your life. Piece by piece. You don't have kids no more or a wife. We hate you so get that through your thick skull and to that nut sized brain." I said.
My hands were holding the collar of his shirt while he was against the cell door. "Ashleigh. Easy on him. Let him go." Sheriff said. I shoved him and he fell.
I walked to the next cell. "Why are you here Peter?" I Asked. "Found him shoplifting alcohol." The sheriff said. "When will he be out?" I Asked.
"Tomorrow." The sheriff said. "Just let me pay. Let him out." I said. "He needs to learn his lesson." Sheriff said. I threw a thousand dollars at his face.
He sighed. I took the keys from his belt and unlocked the door. "Fine. Peter. Stay out of trouble." The sheriff said while grabbing the money and stuffing it in his pockets.
I was leading Peter out. It was silent. Austin and Cole just had ran in. "I got a call saying you were arrested." Cold said.
"Why's that Peter?" Austin said. We were now walking out. "The police were mad he was on our side of town." I lied. "What?" Cole said sadly.
"Maybe we can fix this sides of town thing." I said. "Maybe." Cole and Austin said. "Thanks Leigh for getting me out of there." He said.
"If you do run into some trouble. Stay out of it." I said. He nodded and gave a Cole a hug before leaving.
We went back to school and I was goofing around. A lot.
