• Coles POV •
I sighed once again as I sat in the hospital room beside the love of my life's bed. As soon as she wakes up I'm going to tell her that. That I love her.
I barely leave the hospital room unless I'm forced to shower or to use the attached bathroom. My dad always brings me food. It's been a month and she is still in a coma.
Soon my dad walked through the door holding a bag that said "Ron's Diner". I sighed. "Dad, I'm not hungry right now." I said while holding Ashleigh's hand again.
"I'm not listening. Your eating. You'd know that this is what Ashleigh would want. She would want you to eat while she fights to live." My dad said.
I finally let a tear fall and I have never seen my dad more shocked in his life. "Dad, I don't know what to do. I feel like I'm losing her more and more each day. I can't lose her. She is my everything." I said while more tears streamed down my face.
My dad pulled a chair up next to me and he slung his arm over my shoulder while pulling me as close as he can even with the chairs as barriers.
"We aren't losing her. The doc said that we need to keep talking to her about good things. She should wake up eventually. I know it's hard. The vipers are the same way too. I know it has hit you harder though as she is your girl but, we have to stay strong for her. You know that." He said.
I wiped my nose. "I know. I miss her. I miss seeing her rebelliousness every day. Her cocky smirk. I miss teasing her about how she is short. I miss seeing how alive her eyes looked as she took in everything around her. It hurts me knowing that she was most likely in fear when she was being beaten to a near death." I said.
"Don't let it get to you son. Ashleigh being scared. I doubt it. I think the feeling she had was anger. Dark anger. She's going to want to hunt down those who escaped which was one. Her father." My dad said.
"So your telling me she will most likely go on another suicide mission. One that she could take on with her family instead of being alone." I said a little angry.
"Not that I'm agreeing that she should go at this alone but, you got to think about it. If I betrayed you. Shot you in front of an entire court. Then escape a very high security prison and you come home from being expelled and find your mother shot. Then finding gumdrop tied up in the attic and let's say you had an unknown twin that I was also set on killing. How'd you feel?" He asked.
"Beyond pissed." I said. "Imagine that with little miss feisty fire ball." He said. "She wouldn't want to just kill him. She would want him to suffer. And not behind bars either." I said.
"You got yourself a strong Queen there son. An amazing queen." He said. "When am I suppose to tell her I had taken over the gang and that she is the queen?" I asked stressed.
"Don't he so stressed son. She would love to take that position with you. She loves this gang so much. Just like the gang loves her back." He said.
I felt a squeeze and looked up. "What?" My dad asked. "She squeezed my hand." I said. I felt another one. "My god. Open those damn eyes already Leigh." My dad said standing up.
Her eyes danced underneath her eyes lids. My dad hit the call button and soon my loves bright blue eyes were showing.
The doctors rushed in and helped get the tube out of her throat and then they did a few examinations. I gave her the drink my dad has brought for me. It's my favorite. Sweet tea. Her favorite too.
She took a sip and I knew she felt better. "I decided I wanted a dog." She said. Me and my dad both started laughing. "What were you thinking up there?" My dad asked smiling as he tapped her head.
