Pieces of Me

You brought me joy,
but now I feel only pain.
Without you
I feel as though I'll slowly go insane.
I feel blue as traces of you
still rattle in my brain.
That sparkle in my eye is gone,
washed away by many a tear
like soap suds down a drain.
But I'm not giving up.
There's so much to gain.
Life's already taken too much.
I won't let it do it again.
