She sat silent at the table
with nothing but her memories
to keep her company.
As the tears streamed down
her face
she replayed the highlight reel
of her life.
All the good times-
and the bad.
All the happy
All the sad.
Looking back on all she took
for granted.
Hoping to see where she went
wrong.
Instead she found
there was no one thing.
No exact moment
when she stopped to belong.
His gaze it did wander,
His interest did wane.
It happened subtly,
brought with it
such pain.
She should have read the cues,
should have seen the clues.
She should have-
but she didn't.
So now she sits here with
her memories
and the tears stream down
her face.-MS
