Chapter 31

Erick's P.O.V

My eyes slowly opened as I felt tiny droplets of water on my face.

"Erick it's time to wake up we gotta get going now". I looked up to see my aunt.

"Auntyy just give me five more minutes". I mumbled but after I felt my entire body being covered with water and I jumped out of bed.

"I love you too Erick". I could hear her laughing before hurrying downstairs.

I went to the bathroom and took a shower and washed my hair. After I  was finished I got dressed into a black ripped jeans, a white polo shirt and my new Clark's.

I rushed downstairs to see my aunt just finishing up breakfast.

She made eggs, bacon and toasted bread. I loved my aunt cooking. She could make the simplest things and they still taste yummy.

"Thank you". I said before taking the plate from her. She went in the fridge and poured me a glass of orange juice. We both ate in comfortable silence.

I took my phone up and checked to see if there was anything new but it turns out that there wasn't.

Maria didn't even text me back for me to even know that she was home. Oh well.. I'll see her at school later.

"Erick when are you going to bring Maria over again?". My aunt asked smirking at me.

"Ughh aunty I don't know, I'll asked her though". I said.

"Sooooo?". She shoot up her eyebrows and I did the same.

"What?". I asked her.

"You know exactly where this is going Erick, so have you told her how you feel about her as yet?". She asked and I felt tongue tied.

Like honestly...she knows too much, she way too observant.

"No I haven't told her, what if she doesn't feel the same way. Aunty you know how I am, I can't hurt her so we'll just keep it aside for now". I smiled weakly at her.

"Yeah you're probably right, but you should try though I know you're in recovery but you can loosen up a little sometimes". She gave my hand a small squeeze.

"Yeah I'll try but for now I'm gonna take it easy". I assured her and she lets it go and continues to eat her breakfast.

"Oh shit I'm late!". I looked at my phone and got up from the table.

"Language boy". Aunt said and I muttered sorry to her.

"See you later aunt, love you!". I yelled as I went through the door.

"Love you too nephew!". I headed her yelled from inside the kitchen and I smiled.

I got into my car and I was off to school.

When I reached the guys were already there so I just went to where they were standing.

"Hey guys, I just wanna apologize about how I behaved yesterday I just had a shitty day". I said as I greeted them.

They just nod and then we walked to class together.

Surprisingly my classes before the lunch break were very short I guess.

I sat at the table with Jayden and Jabarie while we waited for the girls.

I really liked hanging out with them. I didn't really have friends while growing up, it was always really my mom and I. She was my bestfriend. I told her everything. But after that bastard came into our lives everything changed but not the fact that I still love her.

She became distant and every time I looked in her eyes I could see it, I saw guilt, I saw fear.

I just wish she was here but day after day I'm learning to accept that she's in a better place but I still want to get back at that man and I hope I will soon. He's out there, he's out there somewhere.

The girls came and I got back to focusing on my friends.

"Erick you feel better now"?. Shantae asked me and I smiled warmly at her and she returned it.

"Oh where's Maria?". I asked gaining everyone's attention.

"She wasn't in class today and she hasn't messaged me". Kayann said.

"I was on the phone with her last night while she was going home but then it got cut off so maybe her phone died and something". I added.

"Yeah she's probably not feeling well and couldn't make it today". Jabarie said and we all agreed.

I hope she's okay but I had this feeling that she might be in danger.

What if she's not okay?

I'll just erase that thought!
She okay.. I hope.

I didn't have anymore classes to attend today so I was planning on going home but the boys suggested that we hang out at Jayden's place so we went there and spent the rest of the day doing things that young adults would do especially since we are males.

We played football and watched some sports and drank some beers until we passed out on the couch.
