Maria's P.O.V

Fear..

Fear..

Fear..

Fear consumed my body. Everything around me was moving so fast.

The sound of the gun going off echoed through my ears.

Tears clouded my vision and I didn't stop them from flowing.

It had come to an end, Erick was gone...

Forever.

I pushed myself to look at the man that I hated so much but that's when I saw what was in front of me.

Blood. Not the blood of the person I thought just got shot but the blood belonged to the man that corrupted me.

Erick was on the floor and from where I am, I can see that's he's breathing.

But how? How could it be?

"If any of you move, I swear to God I'll pull the trigger again". I heard a voice rather familiar and my heart rate quicken.

I turned my head in the direction of the voice and there stood Akeem, Jabarie and a few more men, all holding guns which were aimed at the two other men that were by Erick's side.

They just stood there frozen and I couldn't help but feel relieved that they have found me.

My eyes shifted to where Erick's body laid and the fear inside me rose once more.

"Maria are you okay?". Akeem rushed over to me and asked but I couldn't respond.

I couldn't speak, I couldn't move.

"Sshhhh sis, I got you now, you don't have to worry". He comforted me as he pulled the ropes from off me.

"Jabarie get Erick and check if he's okay. He might just had an heart attack, we need to get them out of here now!". Akeem ordered.

"Akeem I'-m we-ak". I sobbed as he held me in his harms.

"We're getting out of here now sis, he's dead. He won't find you again".

"I was so sca-red Akeem, he was gonna kill Erick". I cried.

"He's gonna be find Mari, I promise you". He assured me and I calmed down a bit.

"We need to find Victoria". I told him and he looked at me confused.

"Who's Victoria?". He asked.

"Find her please, just find her and then I'll explain". I said weakly.

He got up and walked to where the two men where handcuffed by some of the men that came with Akeem.

He spoke with them and then he walked back to me.

"They're going for her now Maria,she's in one of the rooms by herself they said.  Now we have to get both you and Erick out of here. You look very pale". He said and I node my head in agreement.

He took me up and carried me out of the building and that's when I saw Erick being put in the back of a vehicle.

His blonde hair laid over his eyes.

I looked to where the other men were and that's when I saw Victoria and a smile made its way to my face.

"Mommy!!". She called out when she saw me and rushed over.

I hugged her as we both cried.

"I'm here now kisscake, mommy won't leave you". I told her and I could tell that we were now being watched by everyone.

When we pulled away, my eyes landed on Akeem and I could feel a pang of guilt creeping up inside.

"This is Victoria, she's my daughter". I managed to say and his eyes widen in shock.

"You--'re daug-ther?". He asked in disbelief.

"Yeah Akeem, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you. I was just so embarrassed at first and I didn't know what to do so I went away. I couldn't face the world, I couldn't face my friends, I couldn't face you. I just couldn't do it". I rushed up and I could feel my throat tightening up.

I needed more air to breathe.

I just needed to breathe..even for just a minute.

"Mariiiaaa!". Was the last thing I heard before I felt everything crashing down.

This was the end of it.
