Chapter 5- a few years later

Yea that was a few years ago my own father told me I needed braces.
I haven't let them touch my teeth since.

I was able to dodge those cleanings thankfully with my epic excuses.

"I'm way to busy"
"Too much homework"
"I don't feel good"

I made a few friends since going back to school.

I woke up this morning to my alarm clock. "Shut the hell up" I mumbled as I hit the snooze button

It goes off again "Shut the fuck up" I mumble in my pillow. So I slowly got up out of my bed and made my way to the bathroom.

I took a quick shower, did my hair,brushed my teeth. My teeth were really in good condition except they were crooked.

I changed into a black polo and plaid shorts then headed downstairs to see dad at the table sipping coffee

"Morning dad" I said cheerfully

"Morn-" he began saying to he let out a big yawn "morning sorry about that" he chuckled

"It's alright dad" I chuckle and grab a breakfast bar. Then a bottle of water and my lunch off the counter and proceeded to the mud room.

Where I put my shoes on. Black low top converse.  Grabbed my bag and lunch. Then I yelled "bye" to dad and headed out the door.

I walked to school as it was only a block or two away. I got to the school and to my locker

There stood Lukas my best friend. "Hey dude" I said cheerfully and give him knuckles

Lukas was your average kid with short jet black hair that was spiked, wore glasses, and had braces.

The first bell rang and we headed off to homeroom. Me and Lukas sit in the back two seats.
Mrs. Klotz our perky teacher came in the room.
"Hello everyone wonderful day to learn!" she said
Me and Lukas shrugged. The other students groaned they didn't wanna learn.

She took register, then we did our morning work nothing too bad.

Then came math, then English then lunch.

I was suddenly called to the office after lunch. I walked slowly to the office where I see Devon standing there in his scrubs.
"Hey bud" he said and smiled down at me.

"Why you here" I ask

"Your appointment" he says

"Checkup?" I ask

"Yes" He said

I looked down avoiding eye contact. "But Devon" I whine

"No buts" he says as he picks up my bag and we headed out of the entrance to his car.

I got in the car. At least I get to skip PE which was not my favorite class.
Devon drove off to the office he parked when we got there. He unlocked the doors and I started jogging away from the office after grabbing my bag.

"No one is checking my teeth!" I yelled

"Don't make me get dad!" He yelled back after me But was not chasing me. I proceeded to Jog back home. I got home. I unlocked the door with my key and was greeted by Lulu.

"Hey beautiful" I say and smiled at her then I took my shoes off then I headed off to the kitchen and grabbed a bag of crisps then headed upstairs to my room.

20 min into doing homework I heard yelling downstairs. "Uh oh" I say to myself. Then closed my book and hid in my closet. Underneath my stuffed animals I stayed as quiet as possible I don't wanna draw attention.

"Sebastian!" I hear Devon yelling

"Sebastian where in the hell are you!" My dad yelled

I heard stomps coming up the stairs. I can feel it underneath me then my door opened I hear a creak. "Sebastian I'm not happy with you-" my dad said before he notices I wasn't there

"Where is he?" Devon asks

"I don't know and I know exactly why he took off like that" my dad said

I gulped. My heart was racing

"Maybe he is in the closet" Devon suggested
I started crying silently

I saw my closet door open. I sniffled.

"I head a sniffle.." my dad whispered

"He's In here" Devon said

I started breathing heavily then a flashlight was shown in my face.

"Aha" Devon said pointing to me
