*4 weeks later*

Well today is the day that I get my braces tightened I know they are going to be so sore.

I had to go to this appointment after school. When the final bell rang I hurried and put my headgear back in and made my way to dads car and hoped in the passenger side.

"How was school bud?" Dad asked

"Okay" I mumble

"I know bud but you have to have the headgear" dad explains.

Once we get to the office dad led me to the exam room where we awaited dr. Grey.

She soon came in and sat on the stool.

"How are you Sebastian!" She said in a perky way she was in a good mood.

She quickly puts on gloves and a mask and removes my headgear before reclining me back.

I shrug as I really didn't wanna be here.

She cut the wire in a few places and removes it then she removes all the bands.

"What color would you like now for the bands" dr. Grey asks

"Dad you choose" I say

"Give him purple" dad says

I gave him a thumbs up. Then Dr. Grey got the purple bands and starts putting them in. Once she finishes she says

"Now this wire I'm gonna put in is going to be a lot tighter and you may be sore for a few days it's part of the process of moving your teeth"
Dr. Grey explain as she cut the wire and starts attaching it to the brackets

Once she was done "feel around with your tongue make sure the wire ain't poking anywhere" she says

I do what she says and I shake my head no indicating that there was no wire poking me.

"So I've got one question, how often do you wear your headgear" Dr. Grey asks

She takes the tools out of my mouth and returns the chair back to its normal state.

"12 hours a day" I say

"If you are you wouldn't have much of a overbite but you still have it are you lying?" Dr.Grey asks

My dad walks in front of me and gives me the stern eye. "Are you lying"

I gulped "no I am not lying"

"I think you are" dad says crossing his arms.

"Fine I am I never wore them during the school day because they are hideous" I complain spitting out the truth

Dads facial expression softened.
"Well Dr. grey is there any other way to correct an overbite"

I rubbed by cheek as I was in a bit of pain as I just got my braces tightened.

"Well the braces will help correct it and when you get the retainer when the braces come off it will continue fixing it" Dr. grey explained to me and my dad

"So I never needed the headgear?" I said getting a bit angry

"No but your dad wanted you to get the headgear " Dr. Grey says

I turned my attention to dad.  "Is this true dad i didn't need headgear!" I snapped

"It will help fix the overbite" dad says

"I didn't need the headgear!" I yell and storm out of the room.
